We provide a range of activity groups which help people recover from homelessness. The groups reduce isolation and encourage people to explore, or discover new interests which they enjoy. Learning new skills and being part of something does so much more than act as a respite from living on the streets. These activities help people process and recover from trauma in a comfortable environment. They give people a place to feel seen and heard after long periods of neglect. It might not be the biggest step, but it’s still a significant step people take on their journey home with our support.

The Connection at St Martin's works with homeless people in London to discover their strengths and rebuild their lives.
About us
At The Connection, we open our door to everyone who needs a place to call home. We support people sleeping rough in the heart of London, helping them to recover and find their way off the streets. We get to know every person we work with, going the extra mile to understand their needs and hopes for the future, and being creative about finding help and solutions. The journey can be long, and it’s not an easy path. But we take heart, we stick with people and we don’t give up, supporting them to find their own way home. Help us make London a city where no one sleeps rough on our streets.

Jade was just 19 when she started sleeping rough. She built a great relationship with key worker Hannah, who helped her to get support for her drug use and encouraged her to take care of her mental health. Hannah also helped Jade get a flat. Since moving in, Jade has made the place her own and has started studying for a degree! Well done Jade! What an inspiration 💙 #WorldHomelessDay #WorldHomelessDay2024 #WHD2024 #homelessness #roughsleeping

A stable homeless sector is an investment in society but nearly £1bn is set to leave in the sector in April, putting vital services at risk. On #WorldHomelessDay we’ve joined 75 other orgs in signing Homeless Link’s letter to Rachel Reeves calling for action in the AutumnBudget.
"The cost of homelessness is felt across our society, holding people back from achieving their potential and placing huge strain on wider public services. Putting in place the foundations for a stable and effective homelessness sector should, therefore, be seen as an investment and a key steppingstone for Labour’s mission driven Government, with the upcoming Autumn Budget an opportunity to show that the Government is serious about getting back on track to ending homelessness." We have written to the Chancellor Rachel Reeves, along with 75 of our member and affiliate organisations, to raise the alarm about the perilous funding cliff edge facing homelessness services come April.

When Sebastian first came to The Connection, he'd been sleeping rough on and off for several years, wasn't working and had a heroin addiction. After getting to know Seb, his worker Jamie was able to help him onto a waiting list for rehab. While waiting Seb came into our centre every day to eat, shower, wash his clothes and take part in our groups and activities. Seb successfully finished his rehab programme and recently celebrated 18 months of sobriety. We've helped him find his own place and he now has a job as a support worker, helping other people sleeping rough. We're really proud of Seb - he shows that with the right support, anyone can recover from homelessness 💙💙💙 #WorldHomelessDay #WorldHomelessDay2024 #WHD2024 #homelessness #roughsleeping #WorldMentalHealthDay #WorldMentalHealthDay2024 #WMHD #WMHD2024 #support #kindess #compassion #hope #recovery
