Enterprise Investment Scheme Association (EISA)

The extension to the sunset clause on the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) to 2035 has now been officially confirmed. HMRC Treasury has confirmed the extension of the Enterprise Investment Scheme relief and Venture Capital Trusts relief to shares issued before 6 April 2035. An extension to the clause was announced last November and passed through parliament in the Finance Act 2024 in February. Yesterday was confirmed as the appointed day that the extension came into force: “3rd September 2024 is appointed as the day on which section 11 (extension of enterprise investment scheme relief and venture capital trusts relief to shares issued before 6 April 2035) of the Finance Act 2024 comes into force.” Our thanks to the Tax and Technical committee chaired by Philip Hare, the EISA Board and all EISA members who have worked so hard with us to confirm this extension. Last week, EISA’s Community Development Manager Olivia Wing spoke at the rev™ S/EIS event from Pitchflix. She shared information about the EIS Association and the work that we do to spread awareness about both the SEIS and EIS and the vital role they play in boosting small businesses across the UK economy. This S/EIS special was held to provide an opportunity for accelerators & VCs to pitch to startups. Congratulations Sabrina Del Prete for winning the Women in Innovation Award from Innovate UK! Sabrina, founder and CEO of EIS-investee business and EIS Association member Kore Labs, spoke at the 30th Anniversary of the EIS event last September. Our deepest sympathies to the family of Enrico D’Angelo and to all his colleagues at Parkwalk Advisors.   Enrico made a tremendous contribution to the EIS ecosystem and was a long-standing member and valued supporter of EISA. His warm smile, kindness, and fantastic energy touched so many, and he will be greatly missed by us all.   He was a wonderful man who leaves behind a lasting impact. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him.
