    Davy Lazare is a Caribbean-born, award-winning director, writer and poet based in London. He began his career leading filmmaking workshops for prison offenders, inspiring his focus on social and cultural change. His work includes Bodies, a spoken word and dance film, and You Fit the Description, a self-funded short tackling police trauma. With over 12 years in the industry, Davy has directed commercials for brands like Ford and worked with clients such as Def Jam, Channel 4, and ITV. Our MD Darren Sital-Singh caught up with Davy in this Q&A about his journey, the importance of diversity in leadership, and why young Black creatives need to keep honing their craft. This is for the person who receives the most nominations across all of the values. This quarter’s winner was: Laina Claydon 🎊 Also a shoutout to our US Account Manager Ren Schroeder who won the equivalent ‘What would David do?⚡’ award. Well done to all our worthy winners! We hope you agree, we have a pretty amazing group of humans working here. We feel very lucky.

    ESPN reached out to us to help find the best sports commentating creators in order to bring awareness to their 15th anniversary of the 30 for 30 documentary series. The creators have been amazing through out the entire process and as you can see from below, they enjoyed it as much as we did!

    The anatomy of a great brand partnership 👇 Goal: Promote the 15th anniversary of ESPN's 30 for 30 franchise. Content Brief: Pick an episode and make a video about it in my style. That's it. No clunky call to actions, unclickable links in the caption, or mandates to mention the brand within the first five seconds. Trust that you picked the right creator and let them do what they're best at: Create compelling organic content. In less than 24 hours, both videos have over 500K views entirely organically. I expect the brand will layer on a specific, trackable call to action by putting ad spend behind the content. 10/10 execution by ESPN and the team at THE FIFTH (shout out Ren Schroeder for being a great partner!) #sportsbusiness #sportsmarketing #sportscontent #influencermarketing

    ✨ In honour of Black History Month, we’re celebrating some of our incredible Black artists who explore the richness of Black culture, identity, and Afrofuturism ✨ Alexis, a Nigerian visual artist, creates complex digital collages that blend reality with surrealism. Through her work, she examines identity, religion, and gender, often drawing from her experience of being Black in Britain and Nigeria. Christopher Arran, an illustrator, animator, and Senior Lecturer at Brighton University, delves into themes like the beauty of Black skin, ageing, and sustainability, using art as a tool for exploration and social commentary. ZOE3, founded by Andrew Austin, specialises in photoreal CGI and animation, producing stunning visual works that span digital campaigns, branding, and more—merging creativity with the celebration of culture.
