Our last but not least film project of the year was one to remember as we had the pleasure of working with The Walt Disney Company on the UK press campaign for #Mufasa: The Lion King, the story before the legendary tale 🦁 We took to Leicester Square which was transported to the Pride Lands for the UK Premiere and it was a beautiful one! #VAMPPR #VAMPPress

News of Universal Music France (UMF) has entered into a new strategic relationship with Binetou Sylla, a producer and founder of the independent label Wèrè Wèrè Music has had us talking at VAMP HQ this week. The partnership will see Paris-based Binetou Sylla lead Def Jam Africa within French-speaking markets on the continent, in collaboration with Universal Music France and its Capitol France division. Def Jam Africa launched in May 2020, and originally expanded into three markets within French-speaking Africa; Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and Cameroon, in July that year. It's fantastic to see the expansion of Def Jam Africa into more regions and engage with more international markets, where should they expand to next? #UniversalMusicAfrica #Music #DiverseMusic

This week, we were super interested to see that Taylor Swift has surpassed even her own crazy sales record with her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. With sales of the kind that occurred in the pre-streaming, physical music era, Swift’s latest LP secured a huge UK opening of 270,091 units, according to the Official Charts Company. It is her 12th No.1 album and her biggest opening to date; she also achieved the albums and singles chart double for the third time. The staggering volume of sales is underlined by the fact that The Tortured Poets Department has actually outsold the rest of the combined Top 75 albums by around 3,900 units. The Tortured Poets Department has the biggest weekly sales since March 2017, when Ed Sheeran’s Divide achieved consumption of 303,520 in its second week at the summit. Swift’s album beat the opening for Adele’s 30 (261,856) in November 2021. For an international artist, it’s the biggest opening week in the UK since Scissor Sisters’ Ta-Dah, which moved 288,167 on debut in 2006. What has been your favourite album released in 2024? #MusicMarketing #TaylorSwift #Strategy

Interesting to see new studio, Story Works launching in south-west London -Exciting times ahead for the UK film industry! As a black-owned PR agency, we're eager to share our perspective on the booming opportunities in unit work within this dynamic landscape. The UK has become a hotspot for Hollywood productions, thanks to its stellar locations, seasoned crews, and enticing incentives. With a staggering £6.27bn spent on high-end TV and film productions in 2022 alone, the demand for skilled professionals has never been higher. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic, including the US Sag-Aftra actors' strike and reduced spending by streaming giants like Disney and Netflix, the industry has shown remarkable resilience. This resilience is bolstered by ongoing government support, such as increased tax relief for independent films, ensuring sustained growth in the sector. At VAMP we're keen to leverage our expertise and network to capitalise on the burgeoning opportunities in unit work. Let's collaborate and contribute to the continued success and diversity of the UK film industry! #UKFilmIndustry #DiversityInFilm #UnitWorkOpportunities
