Volunteer with Veganuary! We are looking for a talented Social Media Volunteer to join our team and support us in our mission to create a better world for humans and animals alike. The hashtag #Veganuary is quite popular during the month of January – however, this is not reflected in the number of followers of our accounts, especially on TikTok. We are looking for a Social Media Volunteer to help us not only to increase visibility of our social media accounts but also to help the team to increase their focus time on their most critical tasks during the busy campaign period. McDonald's launches vegan nuggets in France! 📣 The vegan McPlant Nuggets arrived in Germany last year and after successful tests, they will now launch this week at 1,500+ McDonald's restaurants across France. These Beyond Meat nuggets will be a permanent addition to the menu and priced the same as the meat option. 👏 Speaking about the launch, Jean-Guillaume Bertola, CMO at McDonald’s France, said: “With the Veggie McPlant Nuggets, we are responding to the increasing desire of French consumers to diversify their protein intake while never compromising on taste.” He added, "We are rather confident about the success of the product." In the US, East Coast pizza chain &pizza launched two new delicious vegan pies featuring Daring plant-based chicken that have been core menu items since. Volunteer support is required 2-4 hours per week to help us track and analyze media coverage. This is a home-based role within the US. Core Responsibilities: 🌱 Research, log, and analyze media coverage of Veganuary in the US and identify trends and gaps 🌱 Take photos of products at grocery stores in the US for social media Additional/Occasional Tasks: 🌱 Upload recipes to the Veganuary website 🌱 Create evergreen social media posts 🌱 Attend some meetings with the Veganuary team This position will close at 23:59 PST on Thursday 17th October 2024. California’s schools are leading the way with plant-based lunch options! 🌱 As the climate crisis intensifies and diet-related health issues rise among American children, California's schools are expanding their menus to include more nutritious, culturally diverse and environmentally conscious options. 🌎 A recent report by Friends of the Earth compared school menu entrées served at the 25 largest school districts across California. The research found that availability of plant-based lunches increased by 60% since 2019, with high schools and middle schools leading the way. The plant-based options served at elementary schools also increased more than threefold, from 16% of districts in 2019 to 60% in 2023.
