We have detailed knowledge and experience in this field, and we very much look forward to further strengthening our relationship with LCC. I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved. This, and the real thing, is such a thing of beauty! The team from VINCI Facilities Defence, with the assistance of our very generous supply chain partners, were delighted earlier this year to have been able to help refurbish the memorial ahead of the D-Day 80 commemoration in June. The installation of your new replica, to sit alongside that of the Hurricane, is fantastic to see at such a nationally important place of remembrance and reflection. Congratulations to everyone involved. #spitfire #hurricane #volunteering #remembrance #battleofbritain #RoyalAirForce

She's here! Our fantastic new Spitfire replica has been delivered to the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne and is being installed on-site with the generous help of J&M Crane & Transport Ltd. The Gravesend-based company has provided a Hiab lorry and an impressive 150-tonne crane to help the manufacturers GB Replicas fit it together and swing it into position next to our replica Hurricane.

When we commenced our FDIS Built Estate contract in the South East of England over two years ago the teams at VINCI Facilities Defence and our partner, Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) both recognised we could bring energy and synergy to what we need to deliver for our military customers through enhanced levels of collaborative working. Facilitated by our friends at Open Road Learning Ltd over 100 colleagues, from both organisations, have recently spent a day re-visiting and reflecting upon our collaborative working values and to further build upon the great progress, and working relationships, we have already achieved. A key focus for the day was to better understand how knowledge can be shared throughout all of our contract teams, to bring faster, more consistent and efficient responses to recurring issues, for our customers. “The way that DIO and VINCI Facilities work collaboratively is baked into our businesses and behaviour. We have reaped the benefits of such an approach over the last two and a half years. We continue to strive for further gains that a collaborative approach provides. It is the ability to jointly innovate and deliver even better outcomes for Defence that we have enhanced in these recent sessions.” Andrew Honnor, DIO – Head of Region  “Two and a half years into the FDIS BE contract in the South East, our working partnership with DIO, and the establishments we serve, is very much based at all levels on strong collaborative relationships, which relies on a strong and pro-active problem solving and customer centric mentality. The recent collaboration workshops held across the region have paid dividends in reflecting on the positives, developing shared understandings, and identifying areas for further development.” Lee Scragg, VINCI Facilities - Operations Director Defence Adrian Powell #team #collaboration #teamwork #vincidefence #military #values #MOD

Round 2! Earlier this week, VINCI Facilities took its roadshow to London for the second of the three sessions. After the success of last week’s Bridgend roadshow, Managing Director Paul Cottam BEng(Hons), CEng, MCIBSE, MEI, Rory Murphy, Commercial Director and members of the senior leadership team provided business updates and answered questions from colleagues. It was a full house at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) with everyone keen to get a deeper insight into where the business is today, from a financial, digital and people perspective – and where we look to be in the future.   The series of three roadshows are a fantastic opportunity for our teams from across the business to catch up and learn about our vision and ambitions – together. The roadshows open with a firm focus on safety and wellbeing – a reflection of the VINCI Facilities ethos that our people are our key asset and their safety comes first – and always will.   Rory said: “What a day! It was really great to see so many of our team at the roadshow and fantastic to be able to answer so many questions. Two way communication is key as we embark on an exciting chapter for VINCI Facilities and creating opportunities for people to ask questions, which are so important to them, will only help to steer us along this journey together.   “I am looking forward to the Manchester roadshow to round off this series. Thanks so much for everyone who has attended so far – your attendance and input is always appreciated.” #VINCIFacilities #collaboration #twowaycommunication #peoplefirst #businessroadshows #askthequestion #togetherwearestronger #informationshare Photo credit to Paul Cottam 🙂

Colleagues from VINCI Facilities, Building Solutions, are delighted to be taking part in the Echelon Improvement Partnerships (EIP) Conference 2024 in London, on 10th October. We are incredibly proud of our colleague, Jessica Hayman, Trainee Site Manager, who has been shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year South West region at the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2024. Jessica joined VINCI Facilities in May 2022. We caught up with her to find out a little bit more about her role and what it’s like to be an apprentice at VINCI Facilities. Jessica said: “I worked as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) within HMP Eastwood Park, escorting contractors around the prison. I worked closely with lots of people from VINCI Facilities and enabled the team to complete a large-scale new build project. “A couple of years ago, a member of the senior management team told me about the apprentice opportunities within VINCI Facilities. I was really happy to receive a recommendation to join their scheme - through my performance and dedication to work. “My role has dramatically developed and I have quickly become an integral part of project management teams. In my current position I am an acting site manager on a fabric repairs scheme with two other site managers delivering this project. “I have established a clear career path with the assistance of my colleagues and Line Manager, and my goal is to become a Project Manager. “I want to see more women within the construction industry, especially in senior management roles. The construction industry has so many different avenues you can go down and there is always something new to learn. “Starting on site can be quite daunting if you are not used to the environment. But I quickly learned that asking questions is a necessity and to give things a go, even if you're not fully confident in that area! There will always be people around you to support you and that making mistakes is a way of learning the correct practices. “On a previous site within a prison I assisted the Site Manager with social value initiatives, which involved two of the female residents becoming labourers for the site. We helped them get a CSCS card allowing them to work on site once they are released. This was really rewarding and probably one of the best things I have ever been involved in. “One of my favourite things about being an apprentice with VINCI Facilities is working with lots of project and site managers. They always give me the time to ask questions and give me the confidence to step up to the challenges that my role brings. “I am excited about my future and I am so happy to have been shortlisted for this award along with so many amazing apprentices in the construction industry.” Good luck Jessica! This nomination is a clear reflection of your success as an apprentice and career to date. #youngcareers #VINCIcareers #apprenticeships #talent #sitemanagement #projectmanager #apprentishipawards #recognition #womeninconstruction #socialvalue

VINCI Facilities Gains Gold Award As a committed and key supplier to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the UK Ministry of Defence across the Regular, Reserve and Cadet Estate, in August 2024 the VINCI Facilities team were proud to attain the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award. Raising our status from ERS Silver to Gold has been a focus for the business over the last two years. A key strategy of our UK Defence Business is to ensure we promote the importance of the Armed Forces and Defence Community within VINCI, and across the wider public. The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme requires an organisation to be a signatory to, and an advocate of, the Armed Forces Covenant. As an ERS Gold employer we are committed to actively supporting military service leavers, their spouses, and Cadet Force Adult Instructors to establish fulfilling careers. We also provide our Reservists an additional 10 days fully paid leave and offer local Cadet’s opportunities to gain insight into infrastructure management, as well as undertaking initiatives to benefit the wider military communities. To achieve these aims we work closely with our partner organisation and charities, including BuildForce Programme, and to promote community engagement opportunities through our ‘Stand Out and Make a Difference’ employee volunteering scheme. On the announcement of this achievement Paul Cottam BEng(Hons), CEng, MCIBSE, MEI Managing Director, VINCI Facilities said: “I am delighted that our work with the military community has been recognised with an Employee Recognition Scheme Gold Award. This means a lot to our team and reflects the excellent collaboration between VINCI Facilities and key stakeholders working to support the Defence infrastructure in the South East.” We will continue to bring focus on assisting and helping those who serve in our Armed Forces and their families. #GoldERS24 #EmployerRecognitionAward #ArmedForces, #ArmedForcesCovenant #CareersinFM #FM South East Reserve Forces' & Cadets' Association Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association for Greater London BuildForce Programme Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), Defence Relationship Management (DRM) UK Ministry of Defence
