Updates

  • From North Paddington to Pimlico, 2024 was about working with local people to improve everyday lives. That meant: 🚪 building much needed housing and action on cleaner streets 🏬 creating local high streets people want to spend time in 🎍 overhauling public spaces like Maida Hill market 🧒🏻 supporting hard-up families with free school meals for every Westminster child eligible between the ages of three and 14 💷 committing more than £24m in cost of living measures to support residents – including £100,000 to ensure the holiday, activity and food programme reach more disadvantaged young people. This coming year will see us build on that record – whether that’s housing, jobs or help with bills.

  • We're excited to share the impact of the £5 million Healthy Communities Fund initative so far. Since launching in January 2024, the Healthy Communities Fund has been supporting voluntary and community organisations to deliver culturally relevant health programmes across Westminster. The results so far: 🥗 126 activities offered weekly 👫🏽 3,000 residents engaged 👬🏻 😊 Measurable health improvements—weight loss, improved blood pressure, increased screening & vaccination uptake. A huge thank you to all the organisations making this happen! 💙 Read more about the Healthy Communities Fund: https://bit.ly/4aGmnmX
