Today is a special day! Seed130 is now open! Seed130 is a dynamic new meanwhile gallery in the City of London, designed to spark dialogue around art, science, and sustainability. Transforming a former retail unit into a hub for experimentation, creativity, and community. Running through December 2025, Seed130 will host a 10-month programme of exhibitions, performances, events, and discussions. Seed130 aims to ‘seed’ ideas for a permanent cultural space within the WilkinsonEyre-designed development, supported by Aviva Investors and CO-⁠RE London. Our first exhibition is by the amazing Mat Collishaw Move 37: Aftermaths. Move 37 explores the tension between technological innovation and environmental degradation, revealing a haunting underwater world shaped by pollution and synthetic biology. Accompanied by Arvo Pärt’s evocative music, it’s a meditative dive into the resilience of nature amidst human disruption. Curated by Futurecity as part of our Cultural Strategy for 130 Fenchurch Street, this initiative is delivered in partnership with Invisible Dust, the Eastern City BID, and a wider network of artists, institutions, and community partners. Session 3: Creating Inclusive Places Wednesday, 2 April 09:00 - 13:30 Guildhall, EC2V 7HH The panel discussion will highlight a range of projects, including the Wellcome Genome Campus, to demonstrate how the industry can respond to the evolving landscape through placemaking strategies and development. In March 2025, we celebrate the Weston Library in Oxford’s 10-year anniversary. Part of The Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford, the Weston is home to its special collections. It is a working library and research centre, and a public event and exhibition space. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott between 1937 and 1940, and originally named the New Bodleian Library, WilkinsonEyre were architects for the library’s complete renovation and rethink which completed in 2015. In this short film, WilkinsonEyre Founding Director James Eyre is in conversation with our client and the project’s champion, Richard Ovenden - Bodley’s Librarian and the Helen Hamlyn Director of the University Libraries. Together they revisit the project and discuss its success, which has seen it transformed from a closed, impermeable book store to the accessible cultural hub it is today, welcoming members of the University and the public alike. In celebration of this anniversary, the Weston is hosting a number of activities this weekend, including an architectural tour of the building by WilkinsonEyre Associate Director Geoff Turner. The University of Westminster has announced Fiona G. as the first inaugural recipient of the new WilkinsonEyre Scholarship. Honouring WilkinsonEyre's founding partner and University of Westminster alumnus, Chris Wilkinson, this bursary is a wonderful initiative designed to encourage and support diverse future talent, with hopes to remove one of the many barriers aspiring students are faced with. We wish Fiona every success as she embarks on her architectural journey, and we are incredibly pleased to see Chris Wilkinson's legacy continue. It is inspiring to see someone so deserving of this bursary given the opportunity to realise their potential, and we look forward to seeing Fiona achieve great things in the future. I was lucky enough to be invited by the Bodleian Libraries to their Founders Lunch today to mark the 10 year anniversary of the opening of the Weston Library at the University of Oxford. The built environment thrives on innovation—now it’s time to apply that to diversity. Our industry has never shied away from bold ideas. We’ve reshaped skylines, redefined urban spaces, and pushed the boundaries of what’s possible. So why has progress on diversity been so slow?
