Too many cooks?! Twenty members of our team came together to put on an elaborate edition of our vegan lunch series at our London Studio last week to mark ‘Veganuary’. With so many tasty dishes it was hard to crown a winner, so a joint prize was given to Gregor F.’s coated dates, and Constance D.’s hearty dahl. We’re already looking forward to the next 🍽️ WW+P, part of Egis' Architecture Line | #studiolife #teamlunch #veganuary

We're very proud to see Byford Station pick up a 6 Star Green Star Design Review Rating - the first of Western Australia's train stations to do so! This major sustainability milestone gives our station the highest rating under the Green Building Council of Australia’s Railways V1.1 Rating tool and represents world leadership in sustainability. The rating is a result of comprehensive, independent verification across multiple sustainability criteria including management practices, indoor environmental quality, energy efficiency, transport, water use, materials, land use and ecology, emissions reduction and innovation. We're pleased to hear the British Chancellor outline her priorities for infrastructure investment yesterday, especially the focus on the economic benefits associated with the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor. We're proud to be a part of the East West Rail (EWR) consortium with Mott MacDonald and WSP, within which WW+P are the lead architect for the Development Consent Order on a project that will deliver new homes and new jobs in unison with sustainable mass-transit connectivity. The UK stands to benefit from the additional clarity the Chancellor has provided around this Government's priorities for transport infrastructure; rail, maritime and aviation capacity all have a crucial role to play sustainable economic growth. Not just for Christmas! Our London Studio tree has taken on its second life as a green centrepiece. Again a collaborative affair, the sculptural tree designed and built by our team with key input from Landscape, Digital and Model-making representatives, now stands as a testament to the team’s concept of a year-round decoration that brightens the studio and breathes life (literally!) into our day. The tree continues to act as an indoor air quality experiment which we'll monitor until 2026, and we anticipate some great results. 🌲 Read more about the original build of the tree, and roll on spring. https://lnkd.in/e2ZVK6tr WW+P, part of Egis’ Architecture Line | #studiolife #greensculpture #studio #sustainabledesign Isabella Bhoan Giulia Pustorino Toby Loughton E. It’s a delight to see Isha Ahmed pick up the The Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects RIBA Part I (Level 6) prize. A privilege to have as part of our team, Isha joins a line of other Part I and II prize-winners here at WW+P and it’s great to see their talent celebrated both in and outside of the studio. Today, the British Embassy Paris UK Architecture exhibition comes to a close. We were pleased to see out the afternoon with a panel discussion between WW+P Senior Architect Lucy Dunn and Heike Neurohr of Hawkins\Brown on how infrastructure can be a catalyst for urban regeneration, chaired by Waldemar Koehler of RIBA. Lucy spoke about projects including the eastern sites of Thames Tideway, Woolwich Elizabeth Line Station, Lawrence East in Toronto, and others - highlighting the need for community engagement to create better spaces that satisfy and suit their locals. Always a pleasure to be in Paris! Thank you to the Embassy and all who came to see us throughout this insightful exhibition. Day one of the British Embassy Paris's UK Architecture Showcase has been a great success. WW+P Chair Rob Naybour spoke on designing infrastructure like our award-winning Paddington Elizabeth Line Station to support sustainable cities, and the importance of our people-focused approach, with "urban stations as one of the few buildings where people commune as part of their everyday experience." Tomorrow, Lucy Dunn joins a panel on infrastructure as a catalyst for urban regeneration. And we'll be back on the stand to welcome visitors in Paris. À demain!
