Reaching Milestones 🎆 The first Y Prentis on our Sunnyside Wellness Village site has reached a 6 month milestone. Ollie has been working with our sub-contractor Darlow Lloyd (Construction) Ltd as a ground worker in Bridgend, where we are building a new housing development and health centre for Linc Cymru Housing Association Limited. Along with his supervisor Chadd, we want to congratulate Ollie for his effort and teamwork on site these last months. Thank you to Nicola Murray from Y Prentis and the site team at Darlow Lloyd who have given Ollie the opportunity to develop his skills through this apprenticeship. #Construction #Apprenticeship 

Project Completion We have completed work on the Seren Gobaith, Brighton Road Hospital site which is set to open with plans to provide up to 150 jobs. Our site team and supply chain have carried out some incredible work on the hospital which will provide Welsh residents with the care they previously had to travel to England for.  A huge thank you to our site team and supply chain for their work on the project! #NorthWales #Construction #ProjectCompletion

Maths Challenge! ✏️ We visited Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni to deliver a Maths in the Workplace lesson and outline the connection between what is taught in the classroom and how it is applied in the construction industry. After our presentation about the various roles and opportunities in construction, the lovely Year 9 class were tasked with an exercise that mimics the role of a quantity surveyor. Once they completed the exercise we introduced them to the CITB Go Construct's Ultimate Quiz and they were able to test what type of roles they are best suited for. Had the pleasure of a look around our new Health and wellbeing training centre Cambria-Wrexham. Teaching resources are excellent for our learners. We are fortunate that the future of Health care in N.E. Wales has this excellent training centre. With assistance from our supply chain partner, Curtis Painting Group Ltd who donated paint and volunteered time, we have painted the shelter at Abereistedd promenade. It looks fantastic with its new blue colours! Inspire to Build 🔨   Wynne Construction, as a member of the North Wales Regional Skills Partnerships Construction Cluster Group, was involved in the creation of the pilot scheme "Inspire to Build" - an educational programme developed for Year 12/13 pupils from the five secondary schools on Anglesey, aimed to encourage them to study technical construction-related degrees and introduce the new Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government degree apprenticeship funding.   Working in partnership with Uchelgais Gogledd Cymru | Ambition North Wales, CITB and other contractors within the cluster group, the programme, hosted by Grŵp Llandrillo Menai once a week, successfully provided the pupils with an engaging and valuable experience of the construction sector. During the 6-week course, each contractor focused on different roles within the industry covering quantity surveying, construction management and civil engineering. The group attended the sessions outside of school hours to undertake group tasks, workshops and a site visit.   We led the final session on Week 6 offering an insight into digital technologies, BIM and challenged the pupils with a programme management task to develop their strategy and planning skills.   Thank you to the social value and design team members from Wynne for supporting this excellent initiative.   #Education #Collaboration #Construction #TeamWork

What a fantastic initiative! Our social value and site team has been working closely with Itec Skills and Employment to provide work experience for two young people on our Sunnyside Wellness Village site in Bridgend. We are currently building 59 new homes and a health centre for our client Linc Cymru. We are really pleased to have supported this collaboration and been able to provide a site-based opportunity for Riley and Kian, who are gaining hands-on experience, confidence and developing skills on a daily basis, whilst exploring their career options in the construction industry.
