This event reinforced a crucial point: Collaboration between technology providers, regulators, and real-world operators is essential to accelerating self-driving deployment. At Fusion Processing, we’ve been at the forefront of this shift—delivering commercially viable autonomous solutions for buses, freight, and urban mobility. Events like CAM Innovators Day highlight how trusted partnerships, regulatory clarity, and cutting-edge technology will shape the next phase of self-driving adoption. I can’t believe it’s already been a week since Zenzic Innovators' Day 2025! This year felt a *little* less stressful for me personally than previous ones, and it was fantastic to reconnect with the team, sit back, and absorb the incredible discussions taking place. The quality of the conversations was outstanding—so much more needs to be explored around the intersection of #CAM and #NetZero, as well as alternative applications beyond automotive, hearing from the British Aviation Group (BAG) showed the breadth and depth of potential applications for CAM, as well as from the awesome Belfast Harbour team and their work for project #Harlander. Building trust—with consumers, policymakers, and industries—was another key theme that will be central to the future of CAM, and look forward to hear from Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE) at future events, as well as more discussions about the future skills needs for the sector, and not just in engineering but in town and city design, social science and many more. It was also great to see the use of word clouds and audience input, highlighting emerging themes of greater collaboration, cross-sector opportunities, and the need for deeper engagement. Catching up with so many familiar faces and meeting new ones was a highlight – I’ve tried to tag a few here but I’ve missed so many out – apologies, but would love to chat soon. The energy and enthusiasm in the room were palpable—alongside some healthy skepticism about the challenges ahead, both for the UK and globally. But what stood out most was the shared passion to navigate these complexities and unlock the societal and economic benefits of CAM. Earlier this week Phil Lloyd MSOE, MIRTE attended Zenzic's Connected & Autonomous Mobility (CAM) event at the Institute of Engineers & Technology, Savoy Place in London to hear about the latest developments. Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom were also in attendance informing delegates of the forthcoming regulations following the implementation of the Automated Vehicle Act 2024.

It was amazing to attend Zenzic and Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles CAM Innovators’ Day this week at the incredible Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) . The capacity audience included delegations from overseas, government reps, funding experts and key leaders and innovators from the sector. Covering everything from achieving net zero to the importance of bees, improving road safety to reducing congestion - the day brought together the people who are and will continue to be at the forefront of the autonomous vehicle agenda… …cars without drivers. It’s no longer science fiction!

In this week’s View from the Top, Paula shares key insights from Zenzic’s Innovator Day, which explored the future of Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM). She highlights discussions on AI and autonomy, including the contrast between data-driven AI and nature-inspired approaches.
