Chris Gee, Head of Aviation at BSI shares a key takeaway from this weeks Farnborough International Airshow: It's fantastic to see the level of Government support and engagement at Farnborough, including Mike Kane, Aviation, Maritime, and Security Minister opening the Global Urban & Advanced Air Summit (GUAAS). We've seen significant progress in Advanced Air Mobility since Farnborough two years ago and aviation innovation continues to accelerate at pace. Mike’s opening speech highlighted the key aviation priorities for the new Government: ✈ Unlocking the benefits of drones – there are huge productivity and efficiency benefits that can be realised from accelerating the adoption of drones more widely across industry. 🛩 Sustainable aviation – confirmation that the SAF mandate will be introduced in 2025, enabling the pathway towards net zero aviation. 🚀 Airspace modernisation – publication of part 3 of the Airspace Modernisation Strategy setting out a technical deployment roadmap to evolve airspace for new forms of aviation. #Aerospace #AdvanceAirMobility #FutureFlight #NetZero #Standards

Michele will support the Board of Directors and Executive, Finance, and Strategic Planning Committees. 👏 Inventures’ Program Manager, Jamie Reyes, will take over Michele’s previous responsibilities supporting the Communications Committee and Work Groups. 📄 Jamie has been with Inventures for five years. Throughout her tenure, she has supported boards, committees, and members by adhering to best practices to ensure each organization meets its goals. With a strong track record in client account management, project management, product marketing, content management, and campaign programs across various industries, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Jamie studied Sociology and Business at San Francisco State University. The aviation industry is under considerable pressure to rapidly evolve, particularly in response to the push for net zero and changing technology, including increased operational automation. As the industry undergoes rapid change, it will need to recruit new talent and develop new skills in areas such as low carbon technologies, as well as sustainable manufacturing practices. A well-managed transition will be critical to retaining skills to maintain current transport systems, while introducing new skills for future mobility. Investing in upskilling and retraining was named as a key priority by sector business leaders asked what would enable success in the future of work. It offers the potential to support redeployment of roles over time, in addition to recruiting for emerging and specialized roles.
