We’re thrilled to announce important new standards to empower nature markets! 📢 The Nature Investment Standards (NIS) Programme, funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, devolved administrations, and developed by BSI with industry, takes a big step forward today with the release of the updated overarching principles standard. This is the first NIS standard that is fully ready for adoption. The overarching principles standard (also called Flex 701 v2.0) reflects industry feedback on the previous iteration of the standard and: ✅ Sets out essential principles for the design and operation of UK nature markets. ✅ Covers processes to generate, trade, and store nature credits. ✅ Is designed to underpin nature market integrity across the UK, providing clarity and consistency to boost confidence and encourage investment. 🔗 Find out more and get your free copy: https://lnkd.in/ef7pKRX9 But that’s not all. The Nature Finance UK Review 2025 Survey is live! But did you read our last Nature Finance Review? ⬇️ Supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, the review provided in-depth analysis, expert insights, and real-world case studies from projects operating in diverse environmental and social settings. The Nature Finance UK Review 2025, to be released this summer, will build on this to provide an updated picture of the state of nature finance projects in the UK, tracking their readiness to trade and the enterprise support they are accessing. A key part of this review is our online survey, designed to identify projects actively pursuing or participating in the sale of environmental outcomes such as carbon, biodiversity enhancement, and nutrient loss. This standard will be released ahead of the event, for market adoption. ***Arup and Nattergal agree landmark partnership to Restore Nature and Advance UK Nature-Based Carbon Removal*** We are pleased to announce that Arup has committed £1million towards Nature restoration at #BoothbyWildland, securing 10,000tCO2e of high-quality carbon removal credits over the next 30 years - certified by Wilder Carbon. Natasha Connolly, Net Zero Programme Director at Arup says “By investing upfront, we and our partners will accelerate the ambition and delivery of this Nature positive wilding scheme, while securing future carbon credits for Arup that support our journey to becoming a science-based net zero organisation by 2040.” Nattergal’s ambition to deliver Nature restoration at scale is only possible with the support of private finance, and we are delighted to see Arup leading the way in recognising Nature as an investable asset class.
