In April last year, 630,000 Sudanese refugees, primarily women and children, sought refuge in Chad. Caritas Tchad is providing essential aid, emphasizing the resilience of Sudanese women. At Metche refugee camp, women have transformed valley floors into gardens and established food markets where 10-20% of aid food is resold for essentials. These gardens offer diverse diets and generate income. Caritas supports these efforts with tools, seeds, and irrigation. "An immediate, unconditional, permanent ceasefire and an end to the indiscriminate bombardment and killing of civilians" in the Holy Land. That is the joint request of Caritas Internationalis, ACT Alliance, and the World Council of Churches after an online meeting on Wednesday. The leadership of the three organisations had planned a solidarity visit to Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza from 5-9 of August.
