While visiting Riyadh late last year, I was struck by the need for a pedestrian connection across Highway 65, which carves through the city from North to South. Inspired by the sand dunes of the Kingdom, we conceived 'The Dune Bridge' to create access from one side of the road to the other. More than just a bridge, Dune Bridge is envisioned as an urban oasis, offering public parks, shaded walkways, and spaces for community gatherings. By integrating urban greening and shaded areas, the bridge would provide a welcome respite from the heat. We have been working with our clients Collins Construction Ltd delivering a £3.5m building in Bloomsbury which will complete in just under 2 months. Final touches are underway on the 3rd floor, with all windows now installed. In the attic, significant work is ongoing, including extension to the flooring, roof reinstatement, and the installation of structural steel and decking in the plant area. We’re thrilled to see this space taking shape and look forward to seeing the final reveal in January. Look forward to sharing it with you then! #retrofit #officedesign #architecture

In this role David will lead design research, enhance design quality and cement Able Partners as a leader in socially responsible architecture. David brings 20 years of experience as head of higher education at Make Architects, as well as several years as an architect at Renzo Piano Building Workshop. As the former chair of RIBA London and current technical tutor in architecture at Central St Martins College Of Art, David’s extensive portfolio of work includes playing a vital role in RIBA-award winning projects, such as the Monica Partridge Building at the University of Nottingham.
