Per a news release, lyrics from Elliott's song "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly" were transmitted about 158 million miles away to reach Venus through NASA's DSN (Deep Space Network). Victoria Monét’s dance moves for her single “On My Mama,” choreographed by Sean Bankhead, are now featured in the popular video game “Fortnite” as the “Lookin Good” emote. This Black doctor just made history at Johns Hopkins University! In June 2024, Nancy Abu-Bonsrah achieved a historic feat by becoming the first Black woman to graduate from Johns Hopkins University's neurosurgery program. History has been made by Sheila Jackson and Natasha McCrea. Sheila Jackson and Natasha McCrea have made history as the first Black women entrepreneurs to own a whiskey brand in California. Their venture, Jackson McCrea, was launched in 2022 following a 2020 dinner conversation where they bonded over a shared interest in whiskey and decided to disrupt the industry. Opened in downtown Newark in July 2021 and expanded to Montclair in November 2023, Brick City Vegan offers dishes like made-from-scratch biscuits and plant-based burgers, showing that vegan food can be as delicious and satisfying as meat-based option.
