The Honeycomb Hideout is officially open! Our fort, inspired by the process of pollination, is a human-sized beehive made up of 60 three-foot-wide hexagons with three abstract flowers around it. Kids and adults can explore the beehive, experiencing what it’s like to be a bee as they climb, play, and learn. 🌼 With input from our designers, architects, their children, and the talented production team at Andalusia Design, along with engineers from Dunaway, this project was a true collaboration. Together, we’ve created a unique blend of creativity, craftsmanship, and community spirit. It was an honor to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for Patriots' Hall of Dripping Springs yesterday! Patriots' Hall is 10-acre retreat and resource hub for veterans and their families to connect, grow and thrive. Andalusia was proud to play a role in the design and development of 3 key architectural elements, including the donor wall flag, donor plaque and the exterior Hog Heaven plaque. All elements were made of steel and used a custom font designed by Joe Chandler, then laser cut to clean perfection! The main item - the donor wall flag - had a single, white powder coated back panel with perforations to make the flag look like it's 'waving' in the breeze. The red stripes were independently designed to highlight donor names and powder coated red, allowing for future donor names! Last week was an active and exciting week in our facility! On Thursday, we were thrilled to open our factory showroom to the AIA Austin Women in Architecture and the AIA Austin LGBTQIA+ Alliance for their Design Competition event! Special thanks to Alexandra Chaves, Assoc. AIA, NOMA Sarah Biesterveld Robbie Anderson and Ashton Brooks for putting on a great show! There was no better way to spend a Saturday than building cool products!
