🌱🐟 BioMar achieves its lowest forage fish dependency in history 🌍📉 Biomar Group A/S ar has reached a sustainability milestone in 2024, with a forage fish dependency ratio (FFDR) of 0.37, the lowest ever recorded. Thanks to innovation in alternative ingredients and the use of fish trimmings, these now account for 55% of total marine ingredients. Carlos Diaz CEO of BioMar Group, highlighted: 💬 “We have had an impressive year in sustainability, proving that being responsible with the planet also makes good business sense.” 🔹 Key results: ✅ 70% of total aquafeed production contains microalgae. ✅ 14.4% reduction in feed carbon footprint since 2020. ✅ 20.6% decrease in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and 23.6% in Scope 3 emissions. ✅ Nearly 100% of employees earn a living wage. With these advances, BioMar is halfway to achieving its 2030 Sustainability Ambitions. 📢 Great start for global fishmeal and fish oil production in 2025! 🌍🐟 According to the latest reports from IFFO – The Marine Ingredients Organisation, fishmeal production in January 2025 increased by 75% compared to the same month in 2024, driven by a 300% surge in #Peru. #Chile, the #USA, #Spain, and several African countries also showed positive trends.
