And of course a thank you to the DC Department of General Services for being a great tenant and partner from start to finish.
We are excited to unveil the brand new DC Department of General Services Headquarters! This impressive, six-story, 258,000 SF establishment was brought to life in just 18 months by Perkins Eastman DC, Gilbane Building Company, and Moya Design Partners for the DC Department of General Services and Trammell Crow Company. Located in the Northeast Heights Development in Ward 7, Washington, DC, this office space is part of a larger 1.5M SF multi-phase project that includes residential, retail, and office development. In recent years, Mayor Bowser announced an initiative that encouraged any District agency looking for office space to begin their searches East of the Anacostia River in Wards 7 and 8 to bolster the community. Each of the six floors was assigned a concept based on the sights and sounds DC residents can experience each day, which informed subtle variations in furnishings and finishes throughout the space.
