Entertain the hypothetical, “what 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 you do if you received a counteroffer?”   𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: Emphasize the positives that the new role has to offer and how it aligns with their long-term career goals. Perhaps the new opportunity offers new challenges, increased responsibilities, learning opportunities, better compensation, shortened commute, and/or improved work-life balance.   𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀: Educate the candidate about the potential drawbacks of accepting a counteroffer.
