We are so proud to celebrate Baker McKenzie’s 75th anniversary with colleagues throughout the globe. Last week #TeamTampa hosted a volunteer week @ tag (Metropolitan Ministries). Colleagues dedicated their time to various programs, providing resources to help unhoused community members lead a self sufficient life. 

We are excited to announce that our very own Renee Agler has been named as one of the Titan 100 in Tampa Bay for 2024! The Titan 100 is a national program that recognizes the top 100 C-level executives and CEOs in a region. Awardees demonstrate exceptional leadership, vision, passion, and influence in their field. While we witness Renee exemplifying these qualities each day, we are thrilled to see her receiving national recognition for her outstanding leadership. Congratulations Renee on this well-deserved achievement!

On July 16th, the Baker McKenzie Tampa Center hosted the quarterly Global Shared Service forum. This gathering brought together leaders from the 16 shared service centers in the Tampa Bay area, providing them with an opportunity to network, exchange best practices, and learn from one another.

#TeamTampa is so excited to celebrate Make A Difference Month! We look forward to partnering with Metropolitan Ministries (MM) throughout the month to volunteer and improve our local Tampa Bay community. Today we are launching our monthly #TeamTampa Spotlight Series - a monthly feature of an employee or team and why they love what they do. ⭐ ⭐ Our first spotlight is our Onsite IT Team. This dynamic duo is responsible for delivering the best-in-class IT Services to our Tampa office. They both love their roles because they get to help others every day. Additionally, through our ongoing partnership with Metropolitan Ministries Matty and Josh were able to help unhoused people of our community access work and digital resources by donating office equipment to Metropolitan Ministries. In their downtime, this team can be found at a local karaoke night! This holiday also known as Freedom Day, commemorates the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in the United States on June 19th, 1865, in Galveston, Texas. As we observe Juneteenth, we recognize its profound significance in American history. It is a moment for reflection, education, and celebration of the rich cultural contributions of the Black community. #TeamTampa worked throughout the month of May to collect 260 items for residential teenagers of Metropolitan Ministries to attend summer camp with the resources they need to be successful and present. Employees came together to assemble all donations in personalized overnight bags which included everything needed for a week away at camp! We are so proud of #TeamTampa and the opportunity to support this wonderful group of young adults as they make memories and build new skills at camp this summer. #lovewhereyouwork

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the importance of mental well-being every day. This month has been a powerful reminder that taking care of our minds is just as crucial as taking care of our bodies. Our Tampa Engage team treated the center to beach ball stress balls, a Project Pup visit and surprise raffles throughout the month as we close out our fiscal year. Let's carry this awareness forward, continue to support one another and remember that it's okay to seek help and practice self-care.
