Breakthrough Miami’s Pickleball Social Aces the Day! 🎾 Today on #WorldPickleballDay, we're throwing it back to our 2024 Pickleball Social for yielding a net gain for FUN and "friendraising", all thanks to our Village! Through our collective engagement, we made a meaningful impact, generating funds to support 5️⃣ Scholars through a year of Breakthrough programming! The event was a perfect blend of FUN, STYLE, and community SPIRIT, introducing more than 100 new families to Breakthrough Miami. From novices to pros, we leveled up our game with instructor Stéphane Jolicoeur. Off the court, connections were made over savory bites, fresh juices, and unique pop-ups. 🛍️ A special thanks to the Freeland family for graciously opening their home to host this event again. Dear Breakthrough Village, As we continue to monitor the development of Hurricane Milton, we want to inform you about our operational plans for this week. Wednesday, October 9: Our team will be working virtually. There will be no on-site activities. We encourage everyone to stay safe and take all necessary precautions. Thursday, October 10: Currently, we plan to be open and in operation on Thursday. We will continue to monitor the storm’s impact and provide further updates, as necessary, regarding any changes to our schedule. Saturday Programming, October 12: Our scheduled programming at BreakthroughU (University of Miami), Gulliver Preparatory School, and Palmer Trinity School sites this weekend will be contingent upon the operational status of those schools. At this time, we expect to run programming as scheduled. If there are closures, we will notify you as soon as we have updates from the schools. Our top priority is the safety of our Scholars, families, volunteers, and team. We appreciate your cooperation, communication, and understanding during this time. We will share any additional information as necessary by email and on our social media channels. Please keep your site directors and Breakthrough contact abreast of any updates over the next few days. At this time, our thoughts are with our fellow Floridians to the north, who are preparing to face the full impact of Hurricane Milton, along with the many agencies, organizations, and brave first responders working tirelessly on the front lines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of others.
