We are an interior architecture firm that believes design is a collaborative and transformative experience.

About us

At Burgess Design, our team of designers and architects can help you create a space that makes a statement about who you are as a company while improving efficiencies and increasing overall employee satisfaction. As the market changes, so does the typical office space. Every client is unique and requires us to learn about the client’s vision, business model, brand, culture, and aesthetic. We study the workplace trends to help our clients create a workplace that promotes collaboration, productivity, and employee retention. Our experience has shown that workplace design must focus on the people first, and the appropriate design follows.

In honor of Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month, we'd like to feature an original art piece by a team member Anthony Perez, Burgess Design's BIM Manager. This composition by Anthony draws from his Mexican heritage and his experiences as a second-generation Mexican American. His cultural upbringing is reflected in his art, and he is proud to represent the Hispanic and Latino community through his creativity.   Burgess Design celebrates Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month! We recognize that creativity and talent come from all walks of life, and combining and sharing diverse experiences helps establish a community that inspires everyone. Burgess appreciates the diversity of our team members for bringing their unique perspectives and contributing to a work environment that actively supports diversity.

For their new Bellevue office, we helped Swinerton bring their vision of a flexible work environment to life. Through thoughtful collaboration, we created a functional, employee-focused space that balances practicality with mindful details, reflecting their long history and values as a General Contractor. Together with their team, we chose brick elements as the foundation of our concept, referencing their origins as a brick masonry company during California’s post-gold rush building boom in 1888. We also incorporated mass timber elements as one of our client's specialties to add design depth and enrich their story. Environmental graphics and photography showcase the company’s 100-year journey and provide acoustic absorption in key meeting rooms. This office supports diverse working styles while reinforcing their brand legacy. Engineering - NKH Engineering Materials- MDC Interior Solutions Timberlab Furniture - Systems Source, Inc.

Our company’s Summer Social this year was hosted at the Jefferson Park Lawn Bowling Club, where the team was able to kick back and get their roll on! Summer Socials are an important part of Burgess Design culture; not only do we celebrate the end of the season, but we also celebrate the team and all their hard work and creativity.   A special thank you to JEFFERSON PARK LAWN BOWLING CLUB INC for teaching the team the right techniques for lawn bowling, and to El Centro Catering for providing the team with a tasty lunch.   And most importantly thank you to Sara Levin for planning and organizing yet another successful summer social!

✨ Designing an Office That Reflects Who You Are ✨ When Burgess Design, Inc. set out to create their new office, they wanted a space that truly reflected their identity and the incredible work they do—a place that would inspire their team to come in every day. Working with a clear vision and a budget, they knew where to prioritize their spending. That’s where the Vode Lighting LLC Zip Two came in. 💡 A game-changer in office lighting, this product goes where others won’t. It surface mounts directly to the ceiling, keeping sustainability front and center, while offering flexibility and staying within budget. More than just a solution, it became a seamless part of the office’s aesthetic, complementing the design without overshadowing the space. And guess what? No ACT ceiling upgrade needed—VODE’s sleek design draws attention away from the ceiling, making it an easy, smart choice. The VODE Zip Two: a minimalist lighting option that checks every box. The perfect addition to your lighting toolkit. 🛠️ PLS #whatsinyourtoolkit #interiordesign #lightingdesign #sustainabledesign #officedesign

We are thrilled to announce our Swinerton Builders project has been nominated for NAIOP Washington State Night of the Stars.   Swinerton's rich company history was a unique focal point for this project, and we sought to help them realize their vision by introducing a sense of timelessness into their new Bellevue office. Through collaborative sessions, we created a warm, welcoming work environment that not only supported the individual working styles of their staff, but also showcased their work as General Contractors and the company’s long-standing history.   Special thank you to our partners NKH Engineering, MDC Interior Solutions, Timberlab, and Systems Source, Inc. for helping make our client's vision come to life.

Thank you to NAIOP Washington State for recognizing our exterior renovation project for a confidential client as a finalist for this year's Night of the Stars.   For this project, our team worked closely with the client to renovate the exterior of a newly purchased building in Kirkland, WA and turn it into a chic and modern office worthy of being dubbed as their new U.S. headquarters. Our team’s goal was to not only refresh the exterior of a dated brick building, but to reflect their brand and incorporate elements that aligned with company values.   We'd like to also thank our partners DCI Engineers, ABBOT CONSTRUCTION,INC., Morrison Hershfield, PSF Mechanical, Inc, and Redline Mechanical for their contributions to the success of this project.

For the second year in a row, the Burgess Design Team has been recognized in the Puget Sound Business Journal's 'Best Places to Work.' Our team attended the event at T-Mobile Park, celebrating alongside various Pacific Northwest businesses. We deeply value every member of our team, knowing that this achievement would not have been possible without the unique contributions of each individual who enriches our culture and elevates our work.
