Today in #RenewableEnergy News: California’s ZEV Momentum Rolls into 2025 “In the fourth quarter of 2024, Californians purchased 108,303 zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), representing 25.1% of all new vehicle sales in the state. This marks a slight increase year-over-year compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. California eclipsed the 2 million ZEVs sold mark in 2024. With more electric vehicles (EVs) on the road every day, consumers are responding to the state’s efforts to build a bigger, better, and more reliable charging network. California has doubled down on EV infrastructure across the state, approving a $1.4 billion investment plan that will expand the most extensive charging and hydrogen network in the country. Her journey has taken her through various roles where she's had the opportunity to work with web, application, and database servers. At CPA, Victoria's responsibilities include reviewing and optimizing our current AWS cloud deployments, managing Microsoft licenses and analyzing adoption metrics to ensure efficient resource allocation. One of her proudest achievements at CPA has been identifying opportunities to optimize our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) cloud infrastructure which has allowed her to leverage my experience in cloud technologies to directly impact the organization's efficiency. CPA has approved a new power purchase agreement with Fervo Energy that will add 18 megawatts (MW) of carbon-free geothermal power to our growing clean energy portfolio. The 15-year contract will support the growing clean energy demand across the 35 communities that CPA serves and avoid millions of pounds of harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Today in #RenewableEnergy News: California Energy Commission Launches $55 Million Project for High-Powered Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Throughout the State "A new $55 million funding window will launch in July 2025 to support the installation of electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations at businesses and publicly accessible locations across the state, the California Energy Commission (CEC) announced today. The Fast Charge California Project is part of the California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP), the nation’s largest EV charging incentive initiative. CALeVIP has incentivized nearly 10,000 EV chargers to support the nearly 1.5 million light-duty electric vehicles on California roadways, according to the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE), the program implementor."
