Munga Disability guardians is one of the organisations that we support. They are parents of Children with Disabilities within Nyeri, Mukurweini Constituency. We will be supporting them under the Education and Digital Literacy Pillar, to ensure they are compliant with the laid down government procedures by enabling them get access to Social Protection Services. This year duting the Africa Development Bank Annual Meeting we participated during a side event organized by the African development Bank-Civil Society Committee, the African Development Bank Civil Society Coalition on Climate and Energy, Afrobarometer and the African Center for Economic Transformation. The specific objectives of the session were to: • Facilitate engagement at a high-level between CSOs, the Governors and Senior Management of the Bank and relevant stakeholders on the added value of CSE in Africa's transformation and global financial architecture reforms. • Discuss entry points for Civil Society Engagement in the Bank’s agenda for Africa’s transformation and global financial architecture reforms. • Identify action points and priorities for the Bank’s Civil society Forum 2024. As an organisation we applaud the Africa Development Bank for having a structure within which they engage the Civil Society organizations keeping in mind that the voice of CSO'S is crucial in any Development being undertaken in Africa. #AfDBAM2024

The Right to Health is a right to every Kenyan under the Constitution of Kenya 2010. During the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology Health week, we got the opportunity to engage on why Health rights matter as equal Human Rights, and why participation in Health financing and policing is crucial for all Kenyans. The Health Week is a student-led initiative which provides health-related information to students and staff. The health week was organized by students from the Institute of Food Bioresources Technology (IFBT) and the School of Nursing (SON) with support from the University through the Directorate of Students Welfare. In May 2023 Coalition for Peace and Gender Champions was invited to share comments during a Public Participation on the Proposed Persons With Disabilities National Policy 2024. The Coalition was privileged to support Munga Disability Champions Community Based Organisation, which is made up of parents of children living with disabilities. Together we presented a Memorandum on the areas where PWD children need support from the Government and how best the Policy will benefit them moving forward. The Public Participation was organised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection together with the National Council for Persons With Disabilities. I May During the United Nations Civil Society Conference held in Nairobi, Coalition for Peace and Gender Champions participated in side events convened by different #ImpactCoalitions We were able to speak during the #GenderEquality #ImpactCoalition session which was aimed at finding areas of priority and urgent attention to the United Nations moving forward from an inclusive lense. Ending Violence Aganist Women&Girls emerged as the top most issue that is seeking to be addressed. As a Coalition we highlighted the effects of floods in Kenya that left many people homeless and on the streets. In February 2024 during Valentine Day, Women Rights Activists from grassroot communities from Nyeri joined other counties in Kenya to mark Dark Valentine Vigil. The vigil was part of the advocacy work to #EndFemicideKe The Vigil in Nyeri was attended by women from grassroots communities, National organisations and the County Government if Nyeri who showed up to show their Solidarity. The journey to end Femicide is long over due and the support of all partners and stakeholders is needed. Together we shall overcome femicide in Nyeri County and across Kenya. Oppression and Violence aganist women and girls will end but for now the fight continues.
