We're honored to have helped bring this new facility to life!

  • Meet Jaydon, one of our summer interns! We caught up with him on the job site to ask a few fun questions. We hope you enjoy getting to learn a little more about Jaydon as much as we did! #NationalInternDay What's the most valuable lesson you've learned so far? "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." It's worth doing a little extra work on the front end to prevent a bunch of extra work on the back end.  Who's your role model and why? A couple of role models of mine are my Dad and my Grandpa. Especially in construction, both having and had long careers at Crossland if find a lot of value in the conversations I have with them about construction and in general. If you could have lunch with any celebrity who would it be? George Kittle. What’s the funniest or most memorable moment you’ve had during your internship? The most memorable experience I've had was probably my first summer with Crossland. I worked on a bridge with a bunch of guys that had previously worked with my Grandpa, so naturally they help me out and taught me. I'm very thankful for that experience.  What's one piece of advice you’d give to someone considering an internship in this field? Leave your ego at the door. Take the approach of "I don't know anything" and you will find out people are way more likely to teach you and help you out. What’s your favorite movie or TV show? Suits Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies that your coworkers might be surprised to learn about? I'm pretty decent at thumb wrestling. What has been your favorite thing about working for Crossland? Meeting people and learning more about the construction process. If you could swap jobs with anyone at Crossland for a day, who would it be and why? I would swap jobs with someone in the legal office. I've watched all the episodes of Suits and I feel pretty confident that could handle a case.

  •  We're calling this a legacy project because we recognize its significance and the importance of doing our job well. This AWSOM (Alice L. Walton School of Medicine) unique project is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our crew. The owner's active involvement has been incredibly beneficial. Despite a tight deadline, our self-performance capabilities have allowed us to excel in every phase—from dirt work and excavation to concrete and steel. We can't imagine tackling this job without our dedicated team. Building it right is our top priority, and we're committed to meeting the high expectations of the architect and owner.

  • Our Knauf North America project is in the final stretch! We're currently laying the asphalt drive and parking areas and starting work on the railroad that will transport raw materials for insulation production. We are constructing 3 rail lines to store cars for Knauf, along with a mainline that connects to a BNSF mainline. The rail line will run through the building, where materials will be offloaded into a large underground pit we built.

  • Our #KansasCityDivision hosted a golf tournament for our KC interns last week! 27 interns, alongside our Project Managers, Field Engineers, and Superintendents, came together for some friendly competition and team building. These summer intern events are a great opportunity for interns to connect with each other and meet current Crossland employees from various roles. It was a great day for golf! #WorkHardPlayHard
