CurePSP and the Parkinson's Foundation invite you to join us for Advanced Team Training, an in-person course focused on interprofessional care for people with atypical Parkinsonism held on October 25-26, 2024 in Minneapolis, MN. This accredited educational program will advance knowledge and skills in team collaboration, optimal assessments and best practices in treatments for individuals living with PSP, CBD and MSA. *Advanced Team Training is for clinicians who have attended a Parkinson’s Foundation Team Training in the past. If you have not attended in the past, a general Team Training will be held the three days prior to the Advanced Team Training at the same location in Minneapolis. The Cleveland Clinic was established by four doctors in 1921 with the goal of providing patient-centered care. Today, it is a world-renowned health system providing cutting edge diagnosis, treatment and research, but is still always striving to put patients first. We are lucky to have the Cleveland Clinic Center for Neurological Restoration (CNR) as part of the CurePSP Centers of Care network and, recently, Jessica Shurer, Director of Clinical Affairs & Advocacy and Kristophe Diaz, Executive Director & Chief Science Officer, spent a day learning about their team, programs and goals. Under the leadership of Dr. Hubert Fernandez, directorship of Dr. Junaid Siddiqui and coordination of nurse practitioner, Patti Clark, the CNR offers an Atypical Parkinsonism Clinic, clinical trials for PSP and MSA, a pilot study of augmented reality and freezing of gait, a quality improvement initiative for hospitalization and much more. Groundbreaking research news: CurePSP has joined the Accelerating Medicines Partnership® in Parkinson’s Diseases and Related Disorders (AMP® PDRD). This initiative, led by the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH), aims to better differentiate Parkinson’s disease from related neurodegenerative disorders, including progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), multiple system atrophy (MSA) and corticobasal degeneration (CBD), to enable earlier diagnoses, more timely interventions and better outcomes. CurePSP is committed to ensuring that this focus on early and accurate diagnosis for PSP, MSA, and CBD drives meaningful progress in improving patient care. We join this effort alongside several other key partners, including Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s | ASAP, C2N Diagnostics, Denali Therapeutics, GSK, The Michael J. CurePSP is excited to have The Rainwater Charitable Foundation (RCF) and Life Molecular Imaging as sponsors for Neuro2024! This symposium continues the active collaboration between CurePSP and RCF, which includes a $90,000 grant for the pre-clinical and clinical development of a neuroimaging agent as well as a partnership to award $2 million in grants to the most compelling projects from the Tauopathy Challenge Workshop.
