📽 Check out this short video we produced on Connecticut's unspoken crisis. These young people exist in every city and town in our state. Until we acknowledge this is a crisis, we cannot take the steps necessary to begin solving it. 🌟 https://lnkd.in/egWWk9mb

Helping young people get back on track
About us
Founded by Barbara Dalio, Dalio Education collaborates with educators, schools, nonprofit organizations, and communities across Connecticut to engage young people and achieve positive youth outcomes. Our approach is grounded in direct engagement with young people, educators, youth development professionals, community leaders, and other experts. We believe that people who are most impacted by the challenges in our education system understand them best and have the perspectives and knowledge needed to make real change. By listening, learning, and acting on insights, we work in collaboration with our partners to find and amplify successful practices and help turn promising ideas into reality for Connecticut’s young people, investing more than $150 million since 2015. Dalio Education created the Connecticut Opportunity Project (CTOP) as a social investment fund to invest in and help strengthen non-profit organizations in Connecticut serving youth who are severely off-track or disconnected from school and employment. In addition, Dalio Education founded the Connecticut RISE Network as a nonprofit organization to facilitate improvement networks across schools and districts to ensure students graduate with a plan and the skills and confidence to achieve college and career success.

📰 Important insights from Connecticut Mirror on Connecticut's workforce challenges: While our state has thousands of job openings, many young people struggle to access these opportunities. As Shannon Marimón, Executive Director of ReadyCT, aptly states: "Ultimately the goal is to ensure that we're elevating all individuals to reach their fullest potential so that they can contribute effectively to the economy and we can be a state that is very proud of that fact — and we thrive because of it." 🗣️ We believe in the power of youth voices. Our recent study, "Elevating the Voices of Young People," highlights crucial perspectives for bridging this gap and building a stronger economic future for Connecticut. 🌟 📚 Dive deeper into these important issues: Report ➡️: https://lnkd.in/eFh3i4Xf Article ➡️: https://lnkd.in/gxU3ci7Y Let's work together to unlock the potential of Connecticut's youth! #CTWorkforce #YouthEmpowerment #EconomicGrowth

Last week, Dalio Education’s Director of Partnerships, Christopher Lyddy, and CTOP’s Senior Portfolio Director, Adhlere Coffy, participated in a critical and timely panel discussion at the Connecticut Youth Services Association conference. 🙌 🎙️ The discussion centered on the vital role of youth service bureaus across Connecticut and how data can help inform their work and ultimately help support more young people experiencing or at serious risk of experiencing disconnection. 🌎 It also focused on the importance of creating a more coordinated support ecosystem that builds and sustains connections with young people, their families, and their communities. 🤝 These are topics that Dalio Education, CTOP, and our grantee partners tackle daily, and we want to give a special thank you to CYSA for their work and for convening such an essential and impactful conference. 🙏 Thank you to Justin Carbonella, MPA for moderating and CYSA’s Kathryn Dube for inviting us.
