The only thing better than going to Hawaii for #GRC2024 is going with family! It's been an amazing time already, but having our writer & social media consultant Mimi (Hannah) Egg has made it an experience as a duo working together along with the rest of the incredible Egg Geo, LLC team in the industry we have a shared passion for. Thank you Geothermal Rising for working so hard to make this conference happen.

Here at the Geothermal Rising Conference in Hawaii, I’m not just another attendee – I’m here to present something I’ve been working on since I first entered this industry. When I discovered geothermal energy, I fell head over heels in love. Here was a magical resource right beneath our feet that could help create a fossil-free society and provide green jobs. But whenever I talked about it, I was met with the same question: "Geo... what?" I quickly realized that despite its incredible potential, the geothermal industry lacked a clear voice and a way to break through like other renewable energies had. There was a communication gap. So, I made it my mission to change that. Over the past years, I’ve been working closely with several stakeholders in the industry to create the Declaration of Communication – a document that unites us and gives geothermal the attention it deserves. The goal? More airtime, more space in the debate, more capital, so we can scale faster and help secure our future. To be honest, I’m a bit nervous. Now is the time to show what has come out of all the workshops and the invaluable feedback you’ve all shared. But I have hope. I believe in this industry – this is the best industry in the world, and I know we can make a difference. Does that sound ambitious? Maybe. But we’ve succeeded. I have thousands of people to thank – experts and industry leaders who have given their time, materials, and expertise. Thank you all, and a special thanks to organizations like International Geothermal Association (IGA), ThinkGeoEnergy, and Geothermal Rising Conference (GRC) , who have supported this initiative. And a personal thank you to my early inspiration, Peter Tait. But this is far from over. What do I want now? I want at least 1,000 signatures on this declaration, and I want to gather the best communicators in the industry – along with all the sharpest associations and companies – to ensure geothermal gets the airtime it deserves. Now it’s time to scale up, for real. #Geothermal #GRC #DeclarationOfCommunication #FossilFree #Communication
