We honored our longstanding partnership with the University of Washington School of Nursing at our "Health and Harmony" event at University House Wallingford. This collaboration of shared vision has benefited both residents and the medical community for over three decades. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate bonds built and lives touched.

We are delighted to announce that the Washington State Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS) has completed their annual surprise audit and University House Wallingford received a rare "Deficiency-Free" rating. Our entire team is proud of this accomplishment as it represents the rigorous standards that we hold ourselves to and our commitment to quality of life for our residents. Required of all retirement communities, these 3-day assessments are designed to ensure safety, well-being, and dignity.

When Aljoya Thornton Place (our retirement community in North Seattle) first opened its doors fifteen years ago, it was with the promise of providing a retirement community that would offer a wide range of activities, amenities, supportive services, and of course, community. Our anniversary celebrations this month include a group photo in our Aljoya t-shirts, a cocktail party for our waitlist depositors, and an elegant gathering for all of our residents. For our “crystal” anniversary we will celebrate with live music, cocktails, and a delectable feast crafted by Chef Patrick. Thank you for fifteen wonderful years!

We are thrilled to congratulate Dr. Hilaire Thompson on her new role as Executive Dean of the University of Washington School of Nursing. Dr. Thompson's work in geriatric care (particularly in fall prevention), has had a significant impact on the health and safety of older adults—an area that is central to our mission at Era Living communities. Her research and leadership have already benefitted so many, and we look forward to continuing our long-standing association with the School of Nursing in this new chapter of excellence.
