In the US the DEA is threatening to limit the ability to prescribe controlled substances through telehealth appointments. This will have a negative impact for women and girls in rural areas, those without reliable transport to in-person visits, those working hourly wage jobs who cannot afford take off 2+ hours for appointments, and those who are actively caregiving for babies and elderly parents and needing help to care for themselves. This will have a negative impact on women who rely on telehealth to manage ADHD symptoms, mental health, perimenopause, insomnia and other conditions. Please take a moment to sign Joanna Strober's petition.

CEO/ Founder of Midi Health, revolutionizing healthcare for women at midlife - to relieve their symptoms and support their wellbeing.

We need your help reaching our goal of 2,500 signatures! In case you missed it …. a proposal from the DEA threatens to severely limit the ability to prescribe controlled substances through telehealth appointments. If this proposal goes through, countless women will lose access to essential medications for menopause, anxiety, sleep disorders, and addiction treatment. At Midi Health we know that telehealth has been a game-changer for women, especially in rural areas where healthcare options are limited. Women rely on medications like Ativan and Lunesta for anxiety and sleep relief, Gabapentin for managing hot flashes and sleep issues—particularly for breast cancer survivors who can’t take hormonal treatments—and Suboxone for women battling opioid dependence. This proposal puts that access in jeopardy. Join us in standing up for women’s health—sign our petition, spread the word, and demand that the DEA extend prescribing flexibilities. Co-founder/CEO of Eli - Continuous hormone monitoring for lifelong health

Eli Health just lit up the iconic Times Square, NYC! When we started Eli, it was just a massive vision—so big that even Times Square feels small by comparison. Standing there with my co-founder Thomas and two of our earliest team members, James and Jocelyn, made this moment even more special. Their baby girl was there too. It reminded us of something powerful: we’re building this for her generation, for ours, and for many more to come. This is just the beginning. At Eli Health, we’re making hormonal health monitoring instant and accessible with a simple saliva test and app. Just as real-time data like HRV changed how millions approach wellness, dynamic hormone data opens new possibilities for managing lifelong health. Why does this matter? Hormones influence nearly every aspect of health—like stress, mood, energy, sleep, and overall longevity. They also affect areas like fitness, weight, fertility, heart health, and life stages like perimenopause. Yet traditional tests offer only infrequent snapshots, limited by cost and delays. Eli is changing that. Be one of the first to experience anytime, anywhere hormone testing by signing up for our waitlist 👉 https://eli.health/join A huge thank you to Muse Capital and Brex for making this larger-than-life billboard—and our vision—shine in Times Square!

👀 Interesting censoring When we were trying to share a carousel highlighting women's health innovation, LinkedIn rejected our boost. We followed all the guidelines, removed emojis, checked the grammar and spelling, resubmitted 3 different times and protested. On a hunch, we changed this one image from the 20+ page carousel and resorted to euphemisms and a vague reference to 'imbalances' and bam- approval! Why not just state the rule and rejection premise LinkedIn? Instead of this: "Your ad was not approved for the following reasons The ad contains non standard text (examples: spelling error, grammar error, capitalization, punctuation, repetition, symbols, upside-down text, and non standard formatting). Learn more" We have real problem if the LI review committee is too uncomfortable to even say "we don't allow these words: vaginal microbiome". #censored #womenshealth

🤣 Follow the transcript of Google Gemini lecturing our founder for having a "strong stance" on leaving the word speculum in her upcoming article title. ----------------- I have a new article being published on FastCompany this week. The title is "Shelving the speculum: Femtech's radical transformation of women's healthcare". I wasn't thrilled with the word "transformation" in the subtitle and asked Google Gemini for help. Gemini explained that the reference to the speculum "Might not resonate with male readers: Some readers might find the reference too explicit or off-putting." Feeling a little feisty, I shared "that's okay, because at least 51% of the readers will get the reference." And asked again for help with the term "transformation". Undeterred, Gemini lectured that "it's essential to consider the potential for alienating male readers" and I should "explore better options". I finally got frustrated with Gemini and shot back "I'll go ahead and write for women and men can just deal with the word speculum, just like women have to deal with erectile dysfunction ads and billboards ALL the time!" Gemini then let me know my title might make some people 'uncomfortable'. Are you uncomfortable Gemini? You seem uncomfortable.

This article is all too timely. We've had some very real conversations lately with founders in femtech who are wearing down; you can hear the fatigue in their voices, you can see it on their faces. It is exhaustion and frustration and doubt that this work will ever pay off. Of course there are moments for celebration, but this is one hell of a mission to be on and it takes a toll. Miller Morris writes about this and proposes some possible fixes in her article.   "I was told [being a founder] was the hardest job in the world, but now I see that it has little to do with canonic late nights and early mornings. You can do everything right and still fail, and there are plenty of “success stories” we should hesitate to admire or emulate. In my opinion, what we need instead of the traditional, white noise story of a founder’s narrative is trifold: a community approach, alternative growth structures, and more authentic stories from founders (and beyond)."
