What an incredible week at #Transform2025! The When team had the opportunity to connect with so many thoughtful HR leaders who are actively rethinking how they support employees through career transitions. The timing couldn't be more relevant - with recent job market volatility making headlines, our conversations centered on creating win-win solutions that benefit both organizations and individuals during offboarding. We were energized by how quickly people grasped the value proposition: employers can significantly reduce healthcare costs while simultaneously providing departing employees with better, more affordable coverage options than traditional COBRA. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn about how we're transforming the post-employment experience. The enthusiasm and engagement reinforced that we're addressing a critical gap in the employee lifecycle. Looking forward to continuing these conversations and building partnerships that create more compassionate, effective offboarding experiences! #Transform #HRconference #EmployeeBenefits #CareerTransitions #HealthTech #COBRA

CNN reports a concerning labor market shift: February saw 172,017 announced job cuts - the highest February total since 2009 and a staggering 103% increase from last year. According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas data, this marks the 12th highest monthly total in 32 years of tracking job cuts. The other 11 highest months all occurred during recessions, highlighting the significance of this trend. These numbers reflect growing economic uncertainty across multiple sectors including retail (38,956 cuts), technology (14,554), and consumer products (10,625). While there was a silver lining - companies' hiring plans increased to 34,580 in February - the overall trend signals major workplace transitions ahead. At When, we're focused on supporting those navigating these challenging transitions. Because behind these statistics are real people facing healthcare coverage decisions, benefits transitions, and financial uncertainty during these career changes - making our mission of ensuring continuous care even more critical during periods of increased workforce volatility.

Important perspective from our CEO on the "revenge quitting" phenomenon and what it reveals about workplace transitions in 2025. As he notes, when dramatic exits become the norm, it's time to rethink how we support people through career changes. Read When’s full analysis on what's driving this trend and how organizations can better handle transitions: https://lnkd.in/ghR4FN8X

The "revenge quitting" trend hitting headlines isn't just another buzzword - it's a wake-up call for how we think about employee transitions and workplace culture. What caught my attention in the recent Software Finder study quoted in Forbes isn't just that 28% of employees expect revenge quitting at their workplace in 2025. It's that 27% feel "stuck" due to economic conditions. This combination of feeling trapped while watching others make dramatic exits creates a dangerous dynamic. Sudden departures often mask long-building frustrations about growth, purpose, and communication. The study confirms this - the top frustrations being low salaries (48%), feeling undervalued (34%), and lack of growth opportunities (33%). But here's what's missing from the conversation: When people feel they have to "revenge quit" to be heard, it signals a breakdown in how we handle workplace transitions. Whether it's better exit planning, more transparent career development, or simply creating space for honest conversations about job satisfaction - we need to rethink how we support people through career changes. Because dramatic exits shouldn't be the only way to make change happen. #ReadyforWhen #RevengeQuitting #Employees #WorkplaceCulture

Heading to NYC this week to present When's solution at the World 50 Accelerator's Employer Health Innovation Roundtable (EHIR)! What began a decade ago as a small gathering of pioneering benefits leaders has evolved into a powerful collection of communities supporting healthcare innovation across employers, health systems, and health plans. As part of the World 50 Group, EHIR (now known as the Employer Benefits Accelerator Roundtable) brings together an even broader ecosystem of forward-thinking executives. We're honored to showcase our solution alongside other innovators who are reshaping how organizations support their people through healthcare transitions. The opportunity to engage directly with benefits leaders from some of the world's most influential companies is invaluable. What makes #EHIR particularly special is its focus on meaningful connections between innovators and the executives implementing these solutions. It's not just about presentations - it's about collaborative problem-solving with the people who understand these challenges firsthand. #ReadyForWhen #Startup #Innovation #HealthInsurance #Healthcare

Important insights from our CEO Andy on the recent NPR and ProPublica investigation into mental health coverage disparities. This issue deeply affects our work helping people navigate insurance transitions, especially after job loss. Read Andy's take on theses findings and California's promising new approach:

Important investigation from NPR and ProPublica on mental health coverage disparities. The findings are striking: while insurers are required to offer equal access to mental and physical health care, they can essentially write their own rules for what's 'medically necessary.' A few key points that caught my attention: ▶︎ Insurers often create internal standards instead of following professional medical guidelines ▶︎ Only 9 states define clinical standards for mental health coverage decisions ▶︎ For hour-long visits, mental health providers are reimbursed about half of what medical providers receive This hits close to home for us at When. Every day, we help people navigate health insurance transitions, and mental health coverage is often one of if not their biggest medical concern, especially after a layoff. The gap between what's promised and what's actually available can be devastating. California's new approach is worth watching: requiring insurers to follow evidence-based standards and cover underlying conditions, not just acute symptoms. As more states strengthen their oversight, we might finally see meaningful change in how mental healthcare is covered. Kudos to ProPublica for shining light on this critical issue. Worth a read for anyone interested in how their state prioritizes mental healthcare. #ReadyForWhen #MentalHealth #NPR #HealthInsurance
