Meet Senior Managing Director Quincy J Jones, MBA, who is celebrating 15 years with #TeamFTI! ⬇️ What do you like most about working at FTI Consulting? Quincy: One of the aspects I value most about working at FTI Consulting is the collaborative and supportive culture. I’m very fortunate to be part of a team that encourages knowledge-sharing and continuous learning, which fosters a positive work environment. I particularly enjoy mentoring colleagues and providing insights into the petroleum and chemical industries. The mix of FTI Consulting’s practice areas – ranging from bankruptcy restructuring and M&A due diligence – creates opportunities for cross-collaboration that keeps work engaging. What inspired you to pursue a career in litigation consulting? Quincy: My path into litigation consulting was unplanned. I spent the early years of my career working in operating plants, designing facilities, developing feasibility studies for new projects and analyzing industry dynamics such as supply, demand and pricing. Around 2008, a colleague at Chemical Market Associates Inc. – formerly IHS Markit Ltd. and now part of S&P Global and Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones company – invited me to join him in focusing more on litigation consulting at a company called LECG. What did you want to be growing up? Quincy: I originally wanted to be an architect because I am fascinated by the design and structure of buildings. However, a great chemistry professor in high school sparked my interest in science, and I was drawn to the chemical industry. That inspiration led me to pursue chemical engineering, where I could combine problem-solving with innovation. I've been fortunate to impact the industry through design, research (several patents), plant construction, contract structure and commercial strategy. How do you spend your free time? Quincy: Travel is a major passion of mine. I love experiencing different cultures, exploring new cities and trying local cuisines. I am still fascinated by architecture and really enjoy the architecture in different parts of the world. I also work very closely with the Johns Hopkins Chemical Engineering Advisory Board and I’m part of the Johns Hopkins Leadership Fellows Program.
