Coming at you with another episode of #RevOpsRants. A safe space where I get to yell at my camara guy Tucker Brookshire about things he doesn't know about. He's never even created a field! If you're an operator, you know this feeling well. Getting asked for something under the pretense of being "easy" or "simple." And having the ability to do it "real quick" but knowing that to do it well would mean being way more thoughtful. Luckily there have been shifts that help us with the "just another field" problem. I posted last week about how companies are spending more time and money on data quality and structure. And when I started off my career it was all about building new fields and standardizing values in CRM's like Salesforce. And data clean up meant using DemandTools and doing lots of spreadsheet work. There are some spaces where AI has made a lot of impact. An ability to normalize data and bring lots of data point together is one of them. Use case: Normalize Industry & Sub Industry Use Clay to bring all salesforce accounts into a table. Bring values in from ZoomInfo and Cognism and whatever else your heart desires. Get an incredible prompt together to look at the values in salesforce, all your data sources, scrape their website and categorize their industry into values that matter FOR YOU. Do this accross all your P1 fields on your account and you only have to push the normalized value back to Salesforce. You don't need to create 17 Zoominfo_Industry_cc fields. And I don't have to yell at Tucker anymore.

Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team Do not outsource your whole RevOps Team I know, it seems counter intuitive because we're a RevOps agency. But we want to help companies build this function and be an extension of this team. The function should be in-house. This isn't IT help-desk, that you can outsource.

Since the dawn of time, man has complained about dirty data. But rarely did we find the budget for it. That seems to be changing. GTM teams and Revenue Operators are willing to spend the money to clean up data. The first reason is obvious - without the right architecture and clean data - AI isn't as powerful. The second is meta - AI is making it easier to clean data, and therefore cheaper. Though I'm still shocked at how expensive data is, competition is making it cheaper - ZoomInfo now has Apollo.io Cognism 6sense G2 etc. Add to the mix orchestration and integration tools like Clay Zapier Tray.ai and we've can move so much quicker and cheaper. Anyway, g2g clean my data so I can go out this weekend.

Happy #FeatureFriday with Gong This week we are looking at how to tie an opportunity to a flow when you enroll someone in a flow from the start. This is a new feature and we are all excited about it! I had a couple videos a couple weeks ago around how you can incorporate opportunity information from a one off email from a deal board while using a template, but now you can just tell the Gong flow from the start of enrollment, which opportunity to look at! Check it out! #RevOps #SalesOps

DeepSeek was downloaded over 10million times and was the #1 app on Apple's App Store in over 160 countries. So, This Week in SaaS we're talking about it. Late Jan, the Chinese AI startup launched DeepSeek-RI. Why was it disruptive? Well they claimed to have on par performance with OpenAi for a fraction of the cost. And wether or not we want to break apart that cost argument, and wether or not you care that they use OpenAi to train their AI (very meta) - competition is good and keeps us innovating (see OpenAi's DeepResearch release). Unlike Sam Altman, Liang Wenfeng has kept a low profile and has raised at least 99M in venture funding. From my research (used OpenAi's DeepResearch because it felt right) they have under 200 employees while OpenAI has thousands. If you're a reddit lurker like me, you saw Sam's AMA on Feb 1, where he said DeepSeek's model is "a very good model!" which is honestly adorable. And he even alluded to OpenAi changing it's strategy and could reconsider how much it open-sources it's technology. If nothing more, we've gotten more innovation out of this - aaaah capitalism & competition. I'm an OpenAi, Claude & Perplexity lady, but curious if anyone's done the comparison & if the fact it's a Chinese company creates data concerns in B2B?

Want to set your sales team up to save valuable time they used to spend on tedious, manual processes? That's the power of combining Gong and Clay. Whenever you've got a new call in Gong, the transcript is sent into Clay, where data is enriched. Next, AI summarizes the info with a custom prompt, and outreach is kicked off on LinkedIn and via Gong Engage. See it in action: https://lnkd.in/gaZr4EeN Also, shoutout to our very own Alex Carstens for building this 🔥 workflow. #Clay #Gong #TechStack #GTM #Sales #RevOps #Operators #Tech #Automation #AI

Take your coaching to the next level and share calls across team that have been recorded in other languages. Maybe English is not your first language and it is sometimes easier to get quick info in your first language..well guess what, you can do that now. Pretty cool.
