🌊 At the Climate Mobility Summit, Climate Mobility Youth Fellow Alexa Silva Varela took the stage to share her story. Alexa spoke from the heart about how sea-level rise and climate change are reshaping her life and impacting her generation’s outlook on the future. This video captures Alexa’s powerful call to action – a reminder that the climate crisis isn’t distant; it’s a lived experience for many, including young leaders who are courageously driving change. At the GCCM, we are proud to support and elevate voices like Alexa’s, bringing real stories from the frontlines of climate mobility to the global stage. #ClimateMobility | #ClimateAction Video Credit: eek media | Matthew Echelman

In the lead up to #COP29, our Climate Mobility & Rising Nations Youth Delegates had an insightful session with UNICEF, featuring Laura Healy, Programme Specialist on Climate Change, Migration & Displacement, to deepen their understanding of UNICEF’s critical work with children and youth on climate mobility. Laura provided a comprehensive briefing on how climate impacts are reshaping the lives of young people around the world, emphasizing the role of youth as agents of change in climate action and adaptation strategies. This interactive session is part of a 10-session capacity-building series designed to equip our youth delegates from across Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America & the Caribbean with essential knowledge and skills on key topics such as climate mobility, international climate negotiations, and media engagement. These sessions prepare our delegates to amplify their voices on the global stage, sharing stories from communities most affected by climate change. Since COP27, our Youth Delegate Programme has remained committed to empowering the next generation of climate leaders in international climate dialogues. Through valuable partnerships like this one with UNICEF, we’re helping these young leaders develop their expertise, amplify their stories, and prepare to drive meaningful change. Thank you to all our partners for making these inspiring sessions possible! #ClimateAction | #ClimateMobility
