BEFORE ➡ AFTER Owning a home was always a dream for Aracelis, but it felt out of reach until she heard about Habitat for Humanity. “[Habitat] gave me hope that I too can be a homeowner someday and have a place my children can call their home and be proud of,” she shared. As a single mother, she not only raises her son but also her adopted niece. Join us in celebrating this incredible milestone of Aracelis and her family, pictured both at her wall raising and then at her home dedication! 🏠💙

Join us in celebrating the incredible success of the Back to School Supply Drive last weekend, organized in collaboration with the Royal Palm Coast Realtor® Association (RPCRA) Leadership Academy to benefit Habitat students and teachers. The RPCRA Leadership Academy provided 150 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to our community's students and even supplied a classroom with much-needed items!✏️🎒 Thank you to the Alderman House for providing the venue, and to everyone who donated and volunteered. You've all made a significant impact on the lives of students and teachers, setting them up for success in the classroom this upcoming school year. Here’s to building a brighter future!🏫🌟

Deyanila immigrated to Southwest Florida from Cuba seven years ago and now calls Cape Coral her new home. As a single mother for three years, she felt discouraged when her attempts to qualify for a conventional home loan yielded no results. However, Habitat gave her hope. After years of housing insecurity, such as worrying about rent increases, Deyanila's daughter and teenage son now have their own bedrooms in their new Habitat home. Congratulations to Deyanila and her family on their new beginning! 👩👧👦🏠

Habitat’s mission is to bring people together to build homes, community, and hope. This mission drives Habitat employees every day, with the foundation of Habitat’s culture resting on our organizational values of Integrity, Teamwork, and Mission Focus. Each year, we recognize three employees who exemplify the meaning of these values at our End of Fiscal Year Party. Congratulations to Angela Peffley for her unwavering integrity, Cece Schepp for her dedication to mission focus, and Juan Marin for his exceptional teamwork! 🔨💙

Facing skyrocketing costs to buy and rent in Southwest Florida, Sean and Erin's dream of homeownership seemed unreachable. They moved in with family and waited out the market, but it wasn't until partnering with Habitat that hope became a reality. The couple met regularly with a housing counselor, completed 300 hours of sweat equity, attended more than 20 hours of homeownership education classes, and paid $2,000 toward closing costs. Sean and Erin celebrated their home dedication in May and officially closed on their home on July 23, just after welcoming their newborn. Join us in congratulating Sean and Erin's growing family in their new Habitat home! 💚

Two months after moving into her Habitat home, Beth reflects on the incredible journey that led her to where she is today. From living in a homeless shelter and then a two-bedroom trailer to owning a home where each of her three children has their own room, Beth's story is one of resilience and hope. She completed 300 hours of sweat equity, attended more than 20 hours of homeownership education classes, and paid $2,000 to pay toward closing costs. “I'm blessed now to be in my house,” Beth said. “I've been here for two months and to know that I can afford my mortgage and everything's going to be great for me and the kids for the rest of their lives and mine, it’s been awesome.” Join us in celebrating Beth’s journey to homeownership in our Journey Together community! 🏘

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Habitat for Humanity’s mission. Among them is Larry, a snowbird who spends winters in Lee County with his wife. He has dedicated 175 hours of volunteer time with us since January 2024. Larry was instrumental in enhancing the accessibility of our South Fort Myers ReStore and played a crucial role in the reopening of our Hurricane Ian-damaged North Fort Myers location. Now back in Minnesota, Larry's flights are already booked to return to Lee County in December. "The day after we arrive, I’ll be at the store,” he said, looking forward to volunteering at the ReStores again. “I told my wife, ‘This is about the greatest thing I think I've ever done.’” 👉 Read more about Larry's role in our ReStores and overall mission: https://lnkd.in/ew-MD_XE 🗣 Comment below and share your volunteering experience with us!
