Hanbury, in collaboration with Virginia Sea Grant, is now accepting applications for the Spring 2025 Research Fellowship—a program focused on designing for resilience and developing innovative solutions to address climate change impacts. The Fellowship provides opportunities for talented and curious individuals to explore nuanced questions and ideas about the future of our built environment. It looks to identify how the intersections of culture, society, natural environment, financial structures, and climate impacts play a role in our decisions as designers. Fellows will be selected to participate in a year-long research design project from January to December. They will work remotely during their fellowship but have the flexibility to work within our offices during their tenure. Interested in this opportunity? Virginia Tech’s Creativity and Innovation District (CID) brings together students, faculty, and entrepreneurs in a 30,000-square-foot dynamic living-learning community designed for “strategic and creative collisions.” Described by Ben Knapp, ICAT Founding Director, as a place to explore “the creative process, from imagination to innovation,” CID nurtures the next generation of world-shaping thinkers.
