Heartland is pleased to have had the opportunity to work alongside our colleagues at KPFF Consulting Engineers and Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson P.S. to inform City of Seattle's Office of Housing in strategic considerations regarding the redevelopment of the 34-acre Fort Lawton property. We're excited about the progress the Seattle Indian Health Board ("SIHB") is making towards opening their new inpatient substance use disorder treatment center on Vashon Island. SIHB, a nationally recognized organization that provides healthcare services for urban Native Americans, purchased the property for $11 million on March 31, 2023.   The Health Board plans to transform the VCC site into a 92-bed inpatient treatment center for substance abuse disorders, a critical step towards re-opening and expanding its Thunderbird Treatment Center, which had closed in 2019. The facility's program will combine traditional Indian medicine and cutting-edge therapeutic programs, offering a powerful alternative to conventional treatment models.   We're proud to have played a role in this important transaction and to help the SIHB achieve its goal of providing exceptional healthcare services to its relatives and the broader community. Heartland is proud to support Microsoft on this exciting project! Nuovo is a 135-unit apartment development that will be affordable to households with income of 80-100% of area median, and which will be developed by SRM Development. It is part of Microsoft’s $750M Affordable Housing Initiative, a multipronged effort to create innovative and replicable models to address housing affordability in the Puget Sound region.    Since 2020, Heartland has provided advice and implementation support to Microsoft on this initiative, including developer outreach, capital structuring, and opportunity underwriting and negotiation to facilitate the development and preservation of housing for people experiencing homelessness, low-income households (up to 60% of area median income), and middle-income households (60% to 120% of area median income). #affordablehousing #development #bellevuerealestate
