We welcomed Climate-Connection Africa 🌍 to our office yesterday for an inspiring climate change workshop. Led by their exceptional trainers, Marjon Castelijns 🌍 🌱 and Kelly van der Doelen the session took us on a powerful journey that deepened our understanding and prepared us to advocate more effectively for climate action. Marjon and Kelly are traveling across East Africa in an innovative, electric 4x4 Land Rover—the first of its kind for such an initiative—highlighting solutions and raising awareness about climate change and ways to mitigate its effects. We left the workshop energized and ready to make an impact! #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #ClimateEducation #COP29Baku Check out their website and follow along their journey: https://lnkd.in/eb7mJpTe Sellah Bogonko, HSC Bilha Ndirangu Marceline Obuya Karen Chela

Jacob's Ladder Africa reposted this
I’m in COP29 Azerbaijan with just one mission… to make sure as many of these conversations as possible translate to one measurable outcome- Number of Green Jobs created for African Youth. Here are some of my personal reflections on my Day 1 COP29 Azerbaijan 📣This year’s COP is considered a climate finance convening. Truth is in COP27 two years ago in Egypt, there was a pledge of setting up a #LossandDamageFund. Two years on and not so much tangible* progress. 📣 Fossil Fuels is a political issue much like many other climate issues. The commitment in COP28 last year signified a transition away from fossil fuels. If implemented, Africa could be the biggest beneficiary given it holds over 40% of the world’s renewable energy potential. I’m grateful for projects like the recently launched @M300 accelerator led by a new friend Andrew Herscowitz. The project aims to connect 300M households in Africa with electricity. This is just half of those who currently have no access to electricity. Looking forward to what this project will do for the many youth trained and yet to be trained in power related skills. Let’s make the investments count 👌🏽 📣#GreenSkills is the logical step before #GreenJobs. Let’s make green skilling of African youth relevant to Africa’s competitive advantage. That’s why I’m excited to be participating at LinkedIn’s debate on Green Skills on Monday 18th November at the Blue Zone. Thanks Efrem Bycer, the Sustainability and workforce Policy Partnerships LinkedIn for the amazing work you’re doing advocating for green skills. Looking forward to sharing an African Perspective at the event. 📣I’m grateful for the recognition as a Global Climate Challenge at COP29 Azerbaijan as a result of the work we do at Jacob's Ladder Africa. It’s particularly significant now as Jacob's Ladder Africa scales its work to multiple countries in Africa. 2025 is big and we are going big in our ambition to get millions of youth across the line. #MakeTheGreenTransitionPractical If in Baku, and working on #GreenJobs #GreenSkills and looking for way of getting to the youth at the frontline of innovating for climate Change in Africa and have #ClimateFinance please reach out!
