Jacob’s Ladder is a participant in the First Steps - Northwest Indiana program. The goal of First Steps is to help Hoosier families make sure their infants and toddlers receive services now to help them in the future. Eligible children ages 0-3, can receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and developmental therapy in the comfort of their own home. She has won many awards, including the Florence Kendall Practice Award and Northwestern University’s Alumnae Research Achievement Award. This July, Jacob's Ladder Pediatric Rehab proudly supports National Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness and Prevention Month. Each year in the United States, approximately 2,600 babies are born with a cleft palate and 4,400 babies are born with a cleft lip, with or without a cleft palate (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Let's come together to raise awareness and celebrate the strength and resilience of children with cleft and craniofacial conditions. Last month our team attended the Indiana Early Intervention Conference in Bloomington, IN. This event, organized by First Steps, Infancy Onward, and the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community (IIDC) at Indiana University Early Childhood Center, brought together top local and national experts to discuss the latest research and best practices in early intervention. We are proud to share that our very own Sandra Cruz and Hannah Frain spoke on a panel, and Cindy Withrow and Mariann Frigo delivered a presentation on tongue ties.
