CONGRATULATIONS, Project Onramp interns! Our 2024 cohort spent the morning at the NYSE celebrating the end of their summer internships this past Thursday. These future changemakers spoke about who their host companies were and what they enjoyed most about their experiences, got a tour of the trading floor (and witnessed the ringing of the bell), and got to post their dreams on the hashtag #MakeYourMark wall courtesy of 3M! The Life Science Cares New York team is endlessly proud of every single one of you and we cannot wait to hear about the amazing things you will all accomplish. A special shoutout to Johanna (Rodriguez) Grossman, PhD and her incredible colleagues at the NYSE for making this day possible for our students! If you are a life sciences organization interested in hosting one of our fabulous interns next summer, please reach out to anna.perrotti@lifesciencecares.org. #makeyourmark #projectonramp #STEMinterns #lifesciences #NYSE

We had a wonderful time at Gilead Sciences' beautiful Parsippany office. Committed to creating a healthier world for all people, 16 volunteers from Gilead's Quality Assurance team assembled 240 hygiene kits to benefit the clients of NewBridge Services, Inc. The volunteers learned about NewBridge's incredible work of bringing balance to people's lives through counseling, housing and education. Serving children, adults, and seniors, NewBridge offers comprehensive support services to address a wide range of community needs—not limited to counseling, addiction recovery, educational programs, and residential care. Thank you, Viki Ferlauto, Head of Counseling Services, for coming out to speak about the incredible work at NewBridge! And a massive shoutout to Antonia Taylor and Karen Dewees from Gilead for giving Life Science Cares New York the opportunity to facilitate this impactful engagement! If you are in the life sciences industry in the metro area and are curious about how to get involved with Life Science Cares New York, don't hesitate to reach out to anna.perrotti@lifesciencecares.org!

On behalf of Life Science Cares New York, thank you to KiiLN- Keystone for Incubating Innovation in Life Sciences Network and Merina Varghese, @Ilse Daehn, @Gabriella Casalena, @Yana Zorina, and Nicole McKnight, PhD for your generous donation. Your support will advance STEM education in NYC. Congratulations on your achievements with KiiLN and the impact you've made. We look forward to building the life sciences community together in New York City. Thank you Alston & Bird for hosting the event to celebrate this transition. Keystone for Incubating Innovation in Life Sciences Network (KiiLN), founded in 2012 by five Mount Sinai postdoctoral fellows, set out to promote the success of early-stage biotechnology start-ups, contributing to entrepreneurial life science innovation. It has been a cornerstone for biotech startups in NYC, receiving funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration and press coverage in Xconomy, Crain's New York Business, and the New York Business Journal. From 2016 to 2019, KiiLN co-organized the annual Foundation conference, and since 2019, the ISMMS-KiiLN Postdoctoral Entrepreneurship Award has provided $10,000 grants to entrepreneurial postdocs. They are excited to pass on $20,000 to @Life Science Cares NewYork to continue their mission and support the next generation of entrepreneurs. #lifesciences #community #thanks #ittakesavillage #networkofgood

🎉 We were thrilled to celebrate the commencement of the Nido de Esperanza Class of 2024 on Thursday, June 27th! 🎓 We cheered on the toddlers for their first graduation, marking the beginning of many more milestones in their lives. The families' pride in the time and effort they've invested over the past three years was evident, making it a heartwarming morning that left smiles on our faces, warmth in our hearts, and light in our souls. A special thank you to Royalty Pharma, Julia DiNardo, and JoAnna Garcia for the beautiful backpacks! Your generosity means the world to us. Nido is a grantee of Life Science Cares New York. We are so appreciative of all the work they do in supporting families and early education. 🌟 #NidoGraduation #ClassOf2024 #LifeScienceCares #RoyaltyPharma #CommunitySupport #EarlyChildhoodEducation
