On May 16, team members from across the resort came together to Hike for Garbage. By banding together and scouring everything from the base area parking lots to the summit of North Peak, we removed and sorted over 1,600 gallons of recyclable waste and over 1,900 gallons of landfill waste.  Small efforts make a big difference, and this was the largest resort-wide group clean-up effort, resulting in an estimated 3,500 gallons of waste being removed. The White Mountain National Forest is our playground, and we all must do our part to keep it clean.

The response has been tremendous. Over $47,500 has been donated to help those impacted by the fire on Main Street. We’re digging in for a final push. Any donation received today; May 17 will be matched by the Loon Mountain Area Community Fund—up to $10,000 in total. This is in addition to the original $10,000 already committed. Thus far, the Fund has supported the families with funds to cover immediate and essential needs. So many have stepped in to lend a hand. The Lincoln-Woodstock Community Resource Center and The Bridge Project have been instrumental in helping those impacted and getting the funds distributed. https://lnkd.in/efEt3KT3

New Lift Announcement! Innovation and access are areas we continue to focus on. Today, in partnership with RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain and South Peak Resort resorts, we're excited to announce the upcoming installation of a new pulse gondola lift, the first of its kind in New England. This Doppelmayr USA lift will connect RiverWalk to the base of our newly-expanded South Peak terrain—and nearby Timbertown Quad. The cabins will carry up to 8 passengers and feature floor-to-ceiling windows for scenic views in every season.  Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2025 and open during the 2025/26 winter season. https://lnkd.in/eqnmuQTu

This winter, like many others, was a wild ride— our season kicked off with a bang, thanks to over 5 inches of fresh snow on opening day, setting the tone for a season filled with diverse weather, the grand opening of the Timbertown Quad, the exciting addition of South Peak terrain, and so much more. Throughout the winter, we continued to leverage the state’s most powerful snowmaking system, offering the best possible conditions. Just as we finished our last snowmaking session in March, Mother Nature decided to rejoin the party, dumping an impressive 52 inches of snow that month. It was the ideal snowy send-off for a stacked lineup of spring events, including some of our all-time favorites, ‘80s Day and the Slushpool Party.  A huge thank you goes out to our amazing team and dedicated guests for making it a season we won’t forget. We’re already buzzing with excitement for next winter!

Locally, in the town of Woodstock, New Hampshire, Veteran's Rest Stop (VRS) serves as a helping hand for veterans in need. Veteran's Rest Stop was founded by Jeff Ingalls, a distinguished United States Navy Officer and former Loon snowmaking manager. After returning from war, Jeff decided to devote his time to helping other veterans who were in need. His vision was to create a local community of tiny homes for veterans and their families. Jeff’s legacy continues through the dedicated board of directors fulfilling his vision at VRS. Among Veteran's Rest Stop board members is Mark A. Evans, a United States Army Veteran and current snowmaking manager at Loon. Hit the link below to read the full article and check out what VRS is working on! Thank you to the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed to protect our freedom. We are grateful for your service and honored to have many as a part of our team.    Pictured is Sherman Adams, the founder of Loon. Mr. Adams served in the Marine Corps during World War I and went on to become one of the most influential presidential advisers in American history.
