This week at #VERGE24, we hosted our 🌲Forest Retreat🌲 Networking Lounge in partnership with Carbon Streaming Corporation. Throughout the conference, attendees took a break from the bustle to relax among the trees, connect with colleagues, and recharge. 💚 We appreciate everyone who mentioned that this space was where they set up all their meetings. It means the world to us to know that we were able to provide a relaxing space for you to collaborate with peers and colleagues and make progress on our climate goals. We hope to see you again in 2025! Credit: Trellis Group

Making reforestation scalable.
About us
Mast Reforestation is a climate tech company with a mission to make reforestation scalable. As bigger, hotter, and more frequent fires increasingly destroy forested land each year, Mast facilitates faster, more resilient forest regeneration. Mast provides vertically integrated reforestation services to get forest restoration projects up and running in weeks, not years. Services include seed collection, seedling cultivation, site preparation, seedling hand planting, aerial drone-based seeding, and ongoing site monitoring. To fund its projects and open new revenue streams for landowners, Mast sells carbon removal credits that allow companies seeking positive climate action to invest in reforestation projects for 200 years or more. Mast’s investors include Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six, Social Capital, DBL Partners, Marc Benioff’s TIME Ventures, Elemental Excelerator, and more. To learn more, visit MastReforest.com.

Great to see Mast Reforestation‘s green 401k provider Breene Murphy from Carbon Collective at our networking lounge (and short film theatre). They're truly delivering a 401k option for our employees whose portfolio mix passes an actually stringent sustainability portfolio. (It also offers all employees other portfolio mixes such as Vanguard’s). #VERGE24

🌱 Our nursery, Silvaseed Company, is the largest private tree seed bank in the Western U.S. 📍 Here in Roy, Washington, we process conifer cones to extract seeds for reforesting lands devastated by wildfires. Our friends at PBS recently visited us to learn how we're addressing the national seed shortage, so that we can grow stronger, more resilient forests and mitigate the worst effects of climate change. 👇Learn more about our seed banks and cone collection operations: https://lnkd.in/dzedqpTZ 📺Tune in to our feature with PBS: https://lnkd.in/dBj644FP

I'm at the Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund Summit this week and the quality of conversations has been fantastic. It's been a joy to be here, led by an org that has been driving investments toward sustainable technologies and climate solutions for decades. They've brought their coalition together to foster collaboration between innovators, major corporations, and non-profits. Bravo to the Microsoft CIF team that organized the event! It's been a joy to meet new potential partners, as well as reconnect with friends. It's been a mini-reunion of Elemental Impact leaders and portfolio co's at the summit and been delightful to share notes, food, and some cathartic laughs! Elemental Crew Representing: Gabriel Scheer with Elemental Impact, Jason Salfi with Dimensional Energy, Dawn Lippert with Elemental Impact & Earthshot Ventures, Lucia Salfi with Dimensional Energy, Jason Aramburu with Applied Carbon, and Matt Logan with Earthshot Ventures Elemental Crew Attending but not in photo: Chris Tolles with Yard Stick PBC, Allison Wolff with Vibrant Planet, and Siobhan Foley with Dimensional Energy you're not forgotten. It was great to see you all!

There is no reforestation without seed. As wildfires burn hotter and longer due to climate change, seed banks are being depleted. Cone collection operations across the western U.S. are vital for ensuring seed is available to restore forests after wildfires. And the impact goes well beyond collecting cones. We are proud of the collaborative work between our nursery Silvaseed Company and Glacier Peak Institute to replenish the western U.S. seed supply and restore burned forests that are unlikely to regenerate naturally.
