About us
People in crisis are dying from preventable causes. Our staff and volunteers are working to change that by bringing basic but life-saving medical care. Going where we’re needed most, we ease the suffering of those devastated by crises. We mobilize staff and volunteers quickly – entering places of turmoil, disease, and natural disaster – to save lives and leave communities healthier.

Our teams in Uganda are preparing for possible mpox cases in our program areas. Staff and community health workers are mobilizing in refugee settlements and at border points to respond to an outbreak. "Medical Teams and our partners take very seriously the risk of mpox spreading into Uganda and other countries...Our commitment to providing quality health care to refugees and host communities is as strong as ever, and we will remain vigilant in preventing and controlling any mpox outbreaks." – Jason Evans, Medical Teams Uganda Country Director Read more about our mpox response in Uganda:

We are grateful to our partners around the world, including International Health Partners, that help deliver loving, life-saving care to those in need.
This month is a significant reminder of the ongoing challenges following Russia's full-scale invasion of #Ukraine two and a half years ago. Sadly, the situation continues to deteriorate. Roughly 14.5 million people need humanitarian assistance, and 3.6 million are internally displaced, making essential healthcare challenging to access. (Stat source: reports.unocha.org). Since March 2022, we have reached over 1.2 million patients in Ukraine by shipping essential medicines and healthcare supplies to our partners in the area Project HOPE, Medical Teams International and International Medical Corps, who have been working on the ground to help those in need. We continue to monitor the situation and are dedicated to supporting patients in need. Follow us for more updates. #HelpThoseInNeed #HealthCrisis #4Change #HelpingHands #NonProfi

It's World Breastfeeding Week! 🤱🏾 For a variety of reasons, breastfeeding isn’t always adopted in some of the countries we serve. But breastfeeding does help newborn health outcomes, especially for babies born into fragile contexts. Read our recent blog to find out more about the impact of breastfeeding and how Medical Teams educates and supports mothers and children: https://buff.ly/4fo6uUt

"Blood cannot be bought, regardless of one's wealth," Dr. Eddah Ndabila, one of our staff members in Tanzania, says. "In times of need, the sole source is an individual's donation. Donating blood is a life-saving act where donors make a significant contribution by sharing a part of their own lives to save others. It is an admirable and selfless act, a unique and profound gift dedicated to saving lives." Consider our team in Tanzania life-savers, then. At a recent event held in partnership with the Tanzania Red Cross Society, they donated 687 units of safe blood! This incredible event highlights the power of collaboration and community engagement when it comes to addressing urgent health care needs!
