Komatsu Mining volunteers continue to do great work as they are on site siding the walls they raised last week!
And so it begins. Komatsu employees started to raise walls and build porches on our 31st and 32nd Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity homes since 2011. Earlier this summer the walls were “prefabbed” by employees and interns and now comes the real test, how square are those corners and how straight are the walls? Komatsu is proud to partner with Milwaukee Habitat in their mission to address the affordable housing crisis in Milwaukee. By increasing homeownership, we can impact financial stability, educational achievement, and positive health outcomes. Last year, the organization set an ambitious goal to double the number of families served. By 2028, Milwaukee Habitat’s aim is to build 40 new homes per year. In 2022, the organization built 20 homes. In 2023, that number increased to 30. And now, in their 40th year, Habitat is set to build 32 new homes. Employees will continue this work this week and next. Returning to hang drywall, paint and install flooring in the months ahead. #Komatsu #AffordableHousing #Volunteerism #MKE
