September is #HungerActionMonth. MRM Detroit has partnered again with our clients Navy Federal Credit Union alongside Feeding America to launch year two of No Plate Left Behind — an immersive AR experience that turns virtual plates of food into REAL meals. This initiative supports the military community, where 1 in 6 Veterans, active-service members and families struggle with food insecurity. This year, we were fortunate to hear stories from inspiring individuals like Bob, a military Veteran who spent years without a home and now volunteers to help other Veterans. As part of our annual “Day For Meaning,” we were grateful to host and work with our community partners at Picking Up The Pieces, LLC, The Coleman A. Young Foundation, The DRE Project, Independence Rides, and SHARE Detroit to address the inequities that exist in Detroit across Housing, Food Security, Transportation, and Education. This week, MRM Detroit's very own CCO, Jeff Cruz was selected to be a guest speaker at the Michigan State University Advertising Association's first meeting of the year. As an award-winning creative and leader, his presentation was aptly named after his professional rallying cry and mantra (it’s literally a poster in his office), “Find Ways to Win.” He shared his thoughts on the risks, rewards, and responsibilities that come with that pursuit through personal stories from his career journey and creative work. The students were highly engaged and peppered him with great questions about AI’s impact on the future of advertising, how to be an effective and empathetic leader, and how students should be thinking about creativity today.
