We are very excited to share this rendering of the new interpretive center that we are planning to expand the National Susan B Anthony Museum & House. Susan B. Anthony traveled tens of thousands of miles by train to organize and advocate for voting rights and human rights, so if this building reminds you of a train station, we've succeeded!

We are very excited about our campus expansion plans. We have submitted site plans to the City for review, and look forward to public hearings and input. The new interpretive center is reminiscent of a train depot. After all, Susan B. Anthony traveled in and out of Rochester by train, often logging more than 10,000 miles a year as she visited cities and towns across these United States, advocating for human rights and voting rights. Here are two renderings of our building design concept. It has been exciting and inspiring to work with Mark Maddalina and Allison Shannon and their SWBR team, Mike Seaman and Will Tidd at Christa, La Bella, and the amazing exhibit creators at Solid|Light, Inc. The new building will be located at the intersection of Brown Street and Jefferson Avenue, soon to be known as "1 Jefferson Ave."

Did you know that less than 3% of the 432 park sites managed by the National Park Service commemorate some aspect of American women's history? We're working with Women's Suffrage National Monument Foundation to change that. On March 28, the Women’s Suffrage National Monument Foundation welcomed 35 organizations committed to uplifting American women’s history and empowering women and girls as the Foundation’s founding cohort of National Partners. Together, the Foundation and its National Partners - which represent more than three million women across the world - will celebrate the contributions of women to American democracy through the establishment of the first memorial on the National Mall dedicated to American women's history. https://lnkd.in/dZjpHB9n...

Early voting starts this Saturday in Rochester, NY! The Anthony Museum is proud to offer our Carriage House (located directly behind the Visitor Center) as an early voting site this year. In reflecting on all that Susan B. Anthony accomplished in order to bring us to this point in voting history, our President & CEO, Deborah L. Hughes, remarked: "When the women of Kansas gained the right to vote, Susan B. Anthony reminded them, 'You have a wonderful power.' In fact, Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass dedicated much of their lives to getting this power into the hands of all citizens, because they believed in the revolutionary power of the vote. Exercise your power in 2024!"
