Recently in Islamabad, Population Council, Pakistan, in partnership with Guttmacher Institute, launched a comprehensive report highlighting the urgent state of women’s reproductive health in Pakistan. This report is the third in a series of national assessments, following similar studies in 2002 and 2012. A special session on “Unintended Pregnancies and Abortion Care” featured insights from Dr. Susheela Singh, Vice President for Global Science and Policy Integration at Guttmacher, who emphasized the need for comprehensive reproductive health services to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. A panel representing provincial Departments of Health and Population Welfare discussed their collective commitment to improving healthcare for women, and the event underscored the vital collaboration among government, international partners, and health organizations.
