While #Guatemala’s 22 Indigenous groups make up more than ½ the population, representation of #IndigenousWomen in governmental spaces is lacking. Our Pop Council Guatemala office is proud to provide and support opportunities for Indigenous women to bridge that gap through our Indigenous Women Government Internships. To date, we have hired, trained and successfully placed 11 indigenous young professionals in key government institutions. Recently our #GIRLCenter organized a workshop for current interns that provided professional development training, and a collaborative space to share their successes and challenges with their peers.
