Today, Ports of Indiana and Port of Cork Company Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen trade, economic and academic cooperation between Indiana and Ireland. Through this new partnership, the two ports commit to exploring the feasibility of a new shipping connection between Cork, Ireland and Ports of Indiana-Burns Harbor in northwest Indiana, supporting the port’s new container initiative that will create an international sea cargo container terminal.   Indiana now shares direct links with Ireland via flight and cargo ship! 🛫 🚢 #indiana #ireland #trade #shipping

Expanding ag trade and creating more container shipping opportunities is the goal behind a recent agreement between the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) and the Ports of Indiana. “We have three ports in Indiana—and sometimes that’s surprising to others considering our geography—but the one thing we don't have is a container loading system, and building that will help us with shipping our ag products,” says Don Lamb, Director of ISDA.
